    Harmonic balancer torque

    Does anyone know the torque spec for the harmonic balancer and the cam cap bolts?

    Harmonic balancer - first be sure the balancer if fully inserted...that is, bottommed out on the oil pump drive; then torque bolt to 37 ft pound, then turn bolt an additional 120 degrees, or in other words, turn bolt so a given spot on the bolt adjacent to one of the three pulley spokes is moved to the next spoke - that will be 120 degrees or 1/3 turn. Before installing the bolt, I put a few drops engine oil on the threads (also crankshaft and the front main seal surface when installing the pulley) - then wiped of as much of the oil off the threads as would come off with a rag...so I left just a light residue of oil as a lubricant.
