Ive noticed this in every northstar car ive driven now.. most noteably 97, 98, and 99 STS.
97 with relpaced donor engine
98 with brand new engine from GM
99 with HG gone, leaking into #2
98 concours, unknown engine but car had 400,000km
At first we noticed it just as a day to day thing, we could tell some times the cars wouldnt accelerate as hard some times. I decided to pay more attention to it. Even from one light to the next, the inconsistancy's are there. Red light, green, it accelerates hard, shifts hard and breaks traction on shift. Next red light, not nearly as much pull, doesnt break traction. Next light, more pull than the first light, slight up hill grade, tires spin all the way to 70k. Its like this every day for both cars im driving now. And i noticed it on all my other cars.
I just assume that the PCM is doing it, reading conditions and telling the engine to run accordingly.
Normal?
