Unhappy 1994 STS - ECM replaced, road speed surge

    Hi All
My 1994 sts has spent many days in the local Goodyear shop. It went in for high idle, problem was found and fixed, now they created a different problem, and cannot find solution. At speeeds of 65 to 75, you will feel a skip, slip or interminent power surge, only at that speed. They have replaced 2 computer boards, let the recal process take place??????. But the problem still exists. Any help!!!!

Ditto here. Had intermittent high idle repaired on my '99 ETC. IAC was replaced.
Still living with the high speed surge or miss though. No codes showing.
At 65 mph it feels like the gas pedal is being pumped. Puzzling.

Let's move this to Engines; Northstar Performance. The thread has nothing to do with ECM tuning....... (performance modification).

(......... and not bad for digging up a thread that has been dead for 3.5 years.)

From the way i'm understanding it, it almost sounds to me like your torque converter is having trouble. but im not much for repairing transmissions, just my 2 cents worth (well i guess 5 cents worth cause Canada doesnt have the penny anymore)
