    2001 deville rough idle

I have a 01 deville that is idling rough. i went and got it check at a local shop the codes it pulled are as follows p0101, p0171, p0174, p0741, p1860 they also gave me some estimates listed below

top plenum boot to throttle body 89.99 ?
plugs ( i change it today)
plug boots ( i changed it today)
pcv valve ( i changed it today)

i know enough about fixing cars to get by, but i dont know what the plenum boot is or were to find it. Is there another name it goes by and if so what is it. they said it could only be bought a the dealership is this true if not where else can i find it. thanks in advance for the help.

It is called the plenum and it's the rubber coupler between the TB and the manifold. Do a search. Submariner409 has posted pictures and diagrams many times. You should have no trouble finding one.

Also, there is no need to go to a shop when a light turns on to pull your codes. These cars have it built into it so you can check them on the dash, reset them and check again to see if the codes returns...very very smart thing to have built in IMO.

    How to do it:
