    pulled code pcm0443

    P0443 - EVAP Purge Solenoid Valve 1 Control Circuit I orderd a EVAP Purge Solenoid and replaced reset light and came back on does anyone know what else can cause this? car is running fine thanks for the help

    Check the connector and circuit ground for the solenoid. Because this is part of the entire fuel tank pressure/vacuum and emissions vapor purge system, you should check the integrity of the gas cap, filler neck, and vapor hosing to the evap canister.

    According to the '02 Seville factory manual if the system is repaired it will clear the light after 3 successful start-run cycles and the code will go to History, and that will clear after 40 successful cycles. The light can also be turned off with a GM Tech-II scan tool. There's also something in that diagnostic concerning an internal driver which must receive proper voltages. Sounds like power or ground problems.

    Where is this valve located? My car is having the same problem and is also idling high.
