I contacted fastchips a few months ago trying to get a chip for my car but they told me the chip in my car was discontinued. They said I could either send them my chip or take my car to tulsa and let them work on it there.
Since there's no way I can be without my car for a few days I've finally talked the wife into letting me take it. They say the chip will be about 12 hp to the wheels which is pretty impressive but I was wondering if maybe they can squeeze out a little more sense they will have my car on the dyno.
Does anybody know exactly how long this will take? I'm going to try to make the trip in one day so I need some idea of what time I should leave that morning.
I'm taking off work September 20th to get this done and hopefully going to the local track the 22nd to see what she'll do.
I called Fastchip again and he is letting me do a pull on the dyno before and after the chip. Maybe on the way back we can even get a top speed run. I'll be sure to give you guys an update on the dyno numbers and the top speed when I get back next Thursday night.
The chip from fastchip added 15 hp to the wheels and removed my top speed limiter. He had it up to 149 in 3rd gear on the dyno. The horsepower went from 230-245 at the wheels and the torque was 260 on the last pull, I can't remember what it was on the first.
I took it to the track but it was hard trying to get a good launch, its a challenge fighting with the traction control off the line with this new chip. My 60 ft times were terrible but my speed at the end was pretty good. I've heard of some guys defeating the traction control and was wanting some advice on how to do that.
