looking at a scangauge 2 / question about pulling codes

Alright, i have a crown vic and the caddy, both OBD2, and needless to say, im thinking about getting a SG2 for code scanning reasons, the sensors, ect

Now, i remember something about on my 98 sls, i can pull that data up realtime on the driver control center or whatever its called, is that true?

Also, when i want to access the code scanning menu ect, it says to use the warmer buttons, while, i only have seat warmers and knobs for the AC warmer buttons, so i am confused.
