    So let me get this straight; The car will accelerate past 85mph, but the speedometer will not display my actual speed. I just have to guess, correct?

    Pretty much. But Im also pretty sure that they are electronically limited to a certain speed. I think my 91 deville is limited to 110-120.

    had the 90 deville going 100+ last night, it started flashing at 112 but still read past that, it almost seemed like there was a rev limiter or something which im sure the car doesnt have..
