msilva954, if you are interested in 4-9 stuff, go to fieroaddiction.com. they have done lots of stuff like this. i've seen a LT1 tpi throttle body put on, a turbo, and nos to mention a few. check em out. also fiero.nl and go to the pennocks forum link.

illumina... First, you should use a small grinder to make a groove into each edge of the pvc fitting. this will prevent the filter from slipping off of the setup. second, take the pvc fitting and tape off the grooved edges for painting.this way, you will not have the problem of more slipping due to warm paint.

are you talkig about making a groove all the way around the pipe, parrallel with the end, so when you tighten the clamp, it'll wanna stay put? then before painting, put tape around the area where the filter clamps on, right? thanks!

lacseville, you are right about the groove, make it paralell to each edge (sorry i didnt specify):drinker you may also want to measure the width of the groove by tracing the clamps of the filter to the tube. i would not have the groove to far from the edge of the tube as well, about 1/3 of an inch at most. good luck on the project.
