    93' 4.9 Eldorado Heating

After I did a search on the forum about flushing out the heater core. I came down to this:

Please used the attach photo as a reference.

As shown on the pictures, Is this the “T” that everybody is talking about ?

If this is the “T” Am I supposed unhook everything and then clog the “number 1” and flush out “number 2” and watch the flowing water coming out of “ number 3”?

Please correct me if I’m wrong. I need heat pretty badly. It’s been very cold, here in Maryland.

    Thanks!

I am not positive, but I think #1 is the supply line. Unhook #2 & #3. Flush it both ways and be sure to put the restrictor back in the same leg it came out of (if it comes out).

    Thanks for the reply Ranger.
What do you mean the "restrictor"? is that the T?

There is a restrictor in line 3 of the "T" I think. It is a plug with a smaller diameter hole to restrict the coolant flow. If you don't have it in there, you won't get good heat.

I can see this is now 10 months old. Hopefully this will help someone.
The "T" has an arrow pointing the way for the water flow. the restrictor is on the right side of the "T" looking at the picture in the above post.
I am sitting here looking at a new part I got a couple of days ago from the Cadillac dealer.
It cost $27. and change and it had to be ordered.
The GM part number is 1648454.

THERE HAS BEEN A CORRECTION TO THIS POST...
THE RESTRICTION SHOULD GO TO THE LEFT OR PASSENGER SIDE OF THE TEE... not the right towards the thermostat!
I know this is an old post, but I ALMOST messed up so I hope this saves someone else JIC.
there is a post here that corrects this but I'm new so I can't post the link. grrr
