    90 deville water pump?

I woke up today to find that I am dripping coolant. It appears to be coming from just behind and below the engine, and pretty much in the center. I had predicted long long ago that the next problem would be the water pump, and thats what i believe it is.

Ill be taking it to my mechanic friends shop tomorrow with hopes he isnt too busy to help me out. If it is in fact the water pump that is causing this, (and not something stupid like a hose fitting) has anybody replaced one on a 4.5? Or maybe have any insight on this ordeal?

Ive already gathered that getting a reman is NOT an option.

I checked the archives and could only find minimal info on water pumps, and only for the 4.9, which i dont have.

    Thanks.

That thread has some good info, the 4.9 and 4.5 are basically the same.

It's a fairly straight forward job providing you have the right tools. It took me less than an hour to change mine. Just be glad that it's not a Honda which is easily a days job.
