I beat the Hell out of my car sometimes and I get 16 mpg for city driving. Right now I think it is set at 16.1 which isn't too bad.

Driving back and forth to work I see 21-26, closer to 26 summer, 21 winter.

And less in bad winds, not that it is windy here in the Chicago area...

Mainly travel 50% back roads with 24 stops/potential stops in a 50 mile drive each way. Not that I am keeping track....

16.4 to 17.4 around town mixed short trip driving (<12 miles one way) on 4.9L 1992 Eldo with 75K miles. The 1991 Seville got 13.5 to 15.0 around town (same trips), on 4.9L with 153K miles.

My 85 Fleetwood Brougham w/ 4.1 gets about 15-16 Ave. MPG w/ more city driving.

My 89 Sedand DeVille w/ 4.5 gets about 15-19 w/ more city driving (she also needs a tune-up)

Re: Whats The AVG MPG Readout for this forum

I can vouch for the 22MPG on the highway for an '82 Eldorado. But around the city is closer to 10MPG.

Now before you mention tune-up (she's in tip-top shape!!), let it be known that here in La Jolla there are hills like you wouldn't believe. So "city" driving here means going up steep hills half the time you're on the road. Getting 10MPG for towing a 2-ton Caddy up a hill half the day isn't too bad. On flatter lands she would get 14-16mpg no prob with a heavy foot.
