    Re: removing 4.9

Are you looking for rebuild/replace or just junk it? The reason I ask is that user name "4.9 engine swap" may spell one thing, but "I have fork lifts and 4 post lift" with no make and model info spells boneyard to me...

I pulled mine through the top (without pulling the hood, mind you) but have heard that the cradle out the bottom is probably better..but again, the 4.9 came in a variety of models from '91 to '95 so who knows...

Good morning - I see that you're online now. Click the settings tab ^^^ and update your profile to show your car, model, year - it helps with diagnosis and advice. As it now stands, everyone is fishing in the dark for just what sort of vehicle you need advice on.

............ How's it going in the midwest ???

    Re: removing 4.9

If you go through the top, you will need to remove the bolt that holds the harmonic balancer (space is that tight), as well as the cooling tower and the evaporator bracket...there are a TON of brackets to get loose and some are hard to reach (but are attainable)...I chose that method because I didn't want to do the brakes and A/C systems as well as the load of other things...
