my 4.1 v8 deville comes up with fault code pcm memory reset ... what and how ???

Usually means a history code. In the past the battery was disconnected causing no communication. Erase the code and check for codes in a week.

Key on, press OFF and WARMER to cycle on diagnostics. Wait for display to read .7.0

Press OFF and HI to erase ECM codes: Display reads E.0.0

Press OFF and LO to erase BCM codes: Display reads F.0.0

Press AUTO to exit diagnostic mode
