Return Line Pressure?

Remove this ad
The U-shaped plastic clip that 'retains' the power-steering line to the adapter is broken. I can not find that clip in the Dorman product lines. It's almost exactly like a fuel line clip, but the 'legs' are 3mm longer. I can't afford the new adapter, so I'm wondering if that clip is needed at all. Once that steel return line is in position and in the adapter, it sure isn't going anywhere....Anyone know how much pressure that return line has? I'm not so much worried about the line coming off as I am about a leak at that adapter. Thanks

Re: Return Line Pressure?

Went to return the fuel-line clips I thought might work and showed the kid I was dealing with that the legs were too short. He did a 'hum', walked to a different part of the store and came back with the Dorman clips I needed! Younger sales guy than the one who sold me the other clips and knows what is where in the store.....

Re: Return Line Pressure?

I had the same problem too on my 1989's line to the cooler. I left the clip off and it has been fine.

Re: Return Line Pressure?

I understand. I had to buy the pack...4/5of them, so I've got a lifetime supply now. I'm also replacing both lines.....that will be loads of fun I'm sure.
