Power Steering Pum Removal on 4.9

    Hello gentlemen,

I am ready to replace all the eight fuel injectors with some refurb. 19lbs Bosh ones I bough on eBay for $150. Is it really necessary to remove the PS pump to replace the injectors. I am going to remove TB, EGR valve, a hose to the thermostat, some conectors, etc. but am really reluctant to touch the PS pump (old plastic reservoir is waiting for trouble I am afraid).

If it IS necessary, could someone guide me through the procedure the easy way? Any tips and tricks? I have attached some pictures for reference.

As always, any advice is greatly appreciated, and I hope everybody enjoys this wonderful afternoon!

When I pulled the fuel rails on mine, I just removed the serp belt and all the bolts holding the PS bracket to the engine. The hoses were left connected. When actually lifting the fuel rail, the PS pump and bracket was pushed aside just enough to allow the rail to clear. I didn't find it necessary to remove the TB or EGR, but did have to remove a coolant hose, IIRC.
Sorry I can't be more specific as to which bolts, but the repair was done a while back.
    FWIW
    YMMV

Thank you for the reply, NickySantoro. Removing the serp. belt has opened an access to one of the bolts holding the PS pump and belt tensioner bracket. It's raining, so I' will finish injectors tomorrow.
