    clamp-down dist caps

Looking at some of the performance distributor caps like MSD and whatnot, and they are mostly "clamp-down" instead of "screw-down" however looking under the hood the distributor uses screw holes, and there does not seem to be enough room for clamping.

Those of you who have done the higher end distributors with the clamping feet, what did you do about this?

Not quite sure ehall, but I don't think you'll find much of a power advantage with one of these caps. Although brass tips last longer, aluminum is actually a better conductor.

    Re: clamp-down dist caps

When I ran with a transparent cap (comes in clamp-down style), I just found a set of screws long enough and added some springs to help with clamping force thus modifying the cap a bit. It didn't look bad at all, but when I had to take the wires off to check some things, the brass terminals fell off!
