Throttle body spacers on a 4.? engine
Ok i know this is probly going to seam kinda crazy but has any one ever put a throttle body spacer on a 4.1, 4.5 or a 4.9 ? Ive been kicking this idea around for a while now and determend thats thires about 3/4 inch between the top of the air induction tube and the hood and from what ive sean on some web sites for throttle body spacers thire suposed to increase your gas mileage and bost your hp by 20 hp. so what im wondering is would it be worth it to make one and put it in since i can find one that will work on the 4.? engine or wold it actuly hurt the engine in the long run and are thire any codes that might pop up in doing this. If this dose work and no codes pop up i was thinking about makeing a bunch of them up and mabey selling them for like mabey 20 -30 $ depends on how much it cost me to make them .any info you all have would be great thanks.

Re: Throttle body spacers on a 4.? engine
I did this a while back for my 4.9, but it really didn't net me a whole lot because my system is a MPFI and because of that, a spacer like that wouldn't really give you much more velocity for your fuel since there is no fuel right there at the throttle body. Now if you tried this on a TBI system, you might see better results...
