Noticed on my 92 deville the last few days a sound, at startup., almost like a starter issue, but car starts ok and runs fine, but now when the engine is turned off i hear the sound too, kind of a screetch like sound for a second. any ideas. thanks

Idle speed control motor (next to throttke body) makes noise when you turn the engine off. If the noie is louder than before it may be on its way to south...

I'm thinking starter bendix not idle motor. Never heard an idle motor screech. Also could be the serpentine belt or tensioner bearing. Remove the belt and start the car, does it screech? if so, look for a pulley misalignment or a noisy bearing driven by the belt. Sometimes reversing the belt direction can help diagnose the nioise.
