    250 or 252?

    Hi I have a Cadillac Sedan Deville 1983 with a 4.1L engine and i am trying to buy a new waterpump but i need to know if my motor is 250cu or 252cu how can i know ?

    I think the most popular is "the infamous 4100". Kind of has a ring to it if you say it like a deep voiced announcer.

    The official name is HT4100 but it's usually listed as the 4.1L gasoline engine. Make sure you're not looking at parts for the diesel engine.

    Some say the "HT" stands for "hook and tow".

    In any event the 252 cid is actually the 4.1L V6 option that was available at the time the 250 cid was the HT 4100 V8. Just posting that for clarification if anyone has the same question.
