A/C Compressor Belt Bypass - 89 Deville 4.5

Does anyone know the correct length belt to use to bypass the A/C compressor in an 89 Coupe Deville with a 4.5. I've searched everywhere and cannot find the answer. The stock belt is ~87 inches long. I've seen posts for the 4.9 and the 4.6 Northstar, but those all use different length stock belts.

The belt you need is 62 inches. You can always measure a bypass with a string. Just route around the pulleys and pinch tight, mark with a sharpie, then measure.

Here's a link to a previous post where the bypass was successful. It's on a '94/4.9, but the routing and belt length will be the same as yours.

Noahsdad i am sorry to inform you the information you have given to bypass the ac compressor on an 89 deville with 4.5 liter is incorrect, the correct belt size for doing this is a 79 inch belt. I found this out by trial and error, had the same problem just last week and went and bought the 62 inch belt you had said would work and it did not. So i took the advice of the string around the pulleys and got the measurement i needed. The 79 inch belt works perfect!
