Well, i raced 3 cars in one night with my 4.1

    I raped a 2003 ish Mustang V6 5spd
    a riced out honda CRX
    and a 2003 honda civic 5spd
i just flew off the line and was pulling all the way up to 165km/h until i let go on gas
i didn't rev past 3500rpms and after each shift went to WOT
tomorrow night i will film my caddy in action to show what a modded 4.1 can do. Which i think isn't too bad at all
I was commented that my car sounds way more raw than a mustang.

What have you done to the 4.1 to make it such a runner I donated my 4.1 as a man made coral reef because it was such a performer

well......exhaust (high flow Magnaflow cat, Flowmaster 80 series), K&N cone intake, all MSD igniton parts, (not igniton box), Bosch plus 2 plugs, advanced timing to 13 degrees, and 91 premium gas, AMSoil 15w40 full synthetic oil. I never WOT it off the line because i don't want to damage tranny, or push it past 3300 rpms mainly because it doesn't make a difference off the line. I'm a BMW guy and my 25 year old 6 series is fast as hell and will rape a 4.9 (done it with a 95 deville) so i am quite satisfied with the 4.1. But this isn't a regular basis beating.

Can you list out the ignition parts you're using? Coil? Module?

    MSD:
    -super conductor wires
    -HEI coil
    -dist cap
    -rotor

    Bosch platinum plus 2 plugs
and a stock module, the 4.1 dist. is HEI, but module not same as a 350, msd doesn't carry module for the cadillac V8's, but i think Mallory does.

Summit Racing shows two HEI ignition modules for my car--the ACCEL ACC-35363 and Pertronix PNX-D2001

Do you have your coil in the cap or a remote?

    MSD coil in the cap
Our modules aren't 7 pin, i bought an MSD module and it didn't match when it came to connections, though the shape of the module matched about 90%

The Delco module according to rockauto is 7-pin?

rockauto also lists AIRTEX Part # 6H1041 which also shows a 7-pin module

I'm looking at parts for a 1985 DeVille.

If it's an 85, it should be a 7 pin module (at least, that's what I remember). Haven't changed one in a year or so, though.
