    4.1 Engine: Sensor Above #8 Spark Plug?

    I broke the terminal lug off the small sensor that is threaded into the engine above the spark plug for the #8 cylinder. The engine seems to run fine still.

    What is this sensor?

    It sounds like the engine metal temperature sensor. It illuminates the "stop engine temperature" idiot light when the head temperature goes above something like 250 deg. F.

    I broke that in my 4.9.
    Was able to remove it and taped it together with aluminum tape. Worked quite well
