    engine oil

    1987 Cadillac Eldorado Ht 4100

Before I did my oil change the oil dipstick showed the oil was near full. When I drained the oil only 2 liters oil came out, and it took only 2 liter oil to fill, this is really strange it usually takes 5 liters. So it seems that something is clogged to prevent the oil from draining.

I am thinking of removing the oil pan to check.
What else can I do? Otherwise the car runs good.

    Thanks

If the stick read full then the pan was full, so if there's a blockage it would have to be at the drain plug. Before you pull the pan, re-drain the oil, then check the dipstick when the flow stops. If there's still oil showing on the stick, try shoving a screwdriver or stiff wire up the drain hole to see if the flow resumes.
