    Radiator cooling fan

I am new in here, i own a 88 cadillac deville, the problem is that the cooling fan keeps on running after i have shut off the engine, the result is that it drains the battery,
Do you think its the Power module that could be stuck on the "on" position ? any help would be greatly appreciated,

    Re: Radiator cooling fan

If you are referring to the fan for the cars interior, not the radiator fan, then it is the power module. Locate it under the hood above the climate control fan motor. A heavy gauge wire comes from the fan motor to the module, unhook the plug to the module to verify. This module was used for many years of Cadillac, slightly different in shape for various body styles. this is a Cadillac only part, Try a wrecking yard with a guaranty.

I think that you will find on the '88 deville, three relays mounted to the front of the drivers side shock tower, these control the cooling fans, give them a light tap when the fans are running with car off (when the cooling fans are not supposed to be running normally), if they shut off, you have found the problem. I think that you will find the problem to be a defective relay. (as I have on two past devilles)
