My '85 Eldorado throws an error code of 27 (open throttle switch circuit). I've checked the fuses and replaced the throttle position switch, but still receive the error.
What else can cause this?
Any help is appreciated.
Dude.....you replaced the wrong thing.....LOL
The throttle position SWITCH is in the idle speed control motor. When you depress the plunger on the ISC motor with your finger you can feel the detent or "click" when you first depress the plunger that is the closed throttle switch or the throttle position switch.
What you replaced was the throttle position SENSOR.....not the problem.
Likely the ISC motor will need to be replaced...although some have dissassembled the ISC motor and cleaned and lubed the closed throttle switch contacts with success.....
