Need Help with BarsLeak and Radiator drain!

I got the caddy and cleaned it up but is in bad need of new coolant. Should I just drain it and refill using 50/50 mixture with the BarsLeak gold? Or do I hook the hose up to it and just drain it out till the water is clear? I actually think that it may be the original coolant, not to sure so I want to be safe(er) then sorry.

Also does the BarsLeak go right in to the radiator cap area?
Finally the same 50/50 mix goes into the reserve right?

Re: Need Help with BarsLeak and Radiator drain!

The fluid was filthy brown and I thought it was the original, but now after draining it and refilling it, it seems to be brown again, is this minerals that built up? Would it be ok to use one of those flush fluids and then drain it out completely and fill it again with coolant and distilled water with the BarsLeak. The water just turns brown right after the car warms up.

This car is pretty hard to drain, its pretty tight in there.

Just keep draining what you can and refilling with fresh 50/50 coolant/distilled water premix. Add the BarsLeak to the radiator cap and, yes, top off the coolant recovery bottle with the same fresh 50/50 coolant/distilled water.

If you change it frequently like this it is easy and quick and after several changes the system will be full of fresh coolant.

The BarsLeaks or the GM coolant supplement will make the coolant look brown or muddy. One of the complaint items about it. Learn to like it.

Just change the coolant occasionally and don't worry about what it looks like. IF you know that the stuff is fresh then there is no need to worry.
