I have a 92 coupe deville 4.9 of course. I just had my oil changed at a quick change joint, and a new pcv valve put on the next morning when i was driving to work my service engine soon light came on. why do you thionk it was triggered. to much oil. havent ran codes yet havent had time busy with my son. any suggestions ideas will be appreciated.
I ran the obd and got about 5 codes. I didnt know if they were old and had been resolved or if it was a fluke, so i cleared the codes then drove about thirty miles and ran the obd again. I was given the e055 code which is throttle out of range does this mean im getting to little or to much gas or does it mean that my throttle body is out of whack? aand how can i resolve this issue?
I would start with cleaning your throttle body. You could have sucked some crud up in there assuming your PVC valve was clogged before. A dirty throttle body could set this code. The angle of the throttle plate and the rpms have a margin of error but for the most part go hand in hand. The computer realizes when they are not correct and flips a code. If the cleaning does not solve the problem I would adjust the TPS. You are probably running a little rich right now.
