    Re: Colors of forum

Is anyone else having new problems with the site? As a result of this thread last fall, I switched from using IE to using Firefox. That took care of stuff like the forum jump and page jump not appearing at the bottom of pages. In just the past few days, though, the forum jump has disappeared again, both in Firefox (on my laptop and desktop at home) and in IE (here at work). Last year when I first had these issues, the forum jump was only gone in IE from the bottom of pages in a thread - if I backed out to the forum page, the forum jump was down at the bottom of the list of threads. Now the forum jump is gone from there, too! The only way I can change to a different forum is to go to the top of the page and click the link to get back to here and select one of another forums.

The fact that this is occurring on 3 different computers and using 2 different browsers leads me to believe it's not a problem on my end. Anyone else seeing the same issues?

Check in there for all the site related issues and problems (this thread really should be in there if you ask me, but i'm not a mod so whatever)

there is some stuff that's been going on lately ... but it appears (to me) to be all sorted out now

(and to answer your specific question the forum jump has been removed and is not coming back... maybe bookmarking your favorite forums is a solution to that problem)

With all the things on this site that are suboptimal, it seems a bit unusual to remove one of the more convenient features of the forum. This site never ceases to confuse me.

    Re: Colors of forum

Apparently it was a feature that was slowing the site down considerably (and wasn't used by that many people) ... it had become so long that you had to scroll through it forever to get to anything.... at that point you're wasting time...

so Sal took it out to speed up the site (one of the changes)

i'm noticing a difference today for sure

Yeah, I saw the other post that said it was server intensive. That seems strange to me, but I have little to no idea how a forum website like this works, so I'll take his word for it.

I think the forum is difficult to read too.
It contains too many blu shades, and in my opinion the fonts need to be bold more often.
