Thumbs up To all the weird people I met over this past weekend...

Ya know? You're all a great bunch of people.. I wasn't all that impressed with the Chicago Auto Show itself - it just didn't interest me all that much. It was too crowded, the layout sucked, I'm sick - so it hasn't left a really great impression on me. MAYBE I'll do one down in Miami and I'll probably go to the LA show next year to see the Cadillac ATS...

In any event - the high point of my weekend was all of you. Thank you to everyone who showed up (yeah, even Nicki for the minute I saw her)! I really do hope I get to make the next Chicago (or area) meet. And I hope as many of you as possible can get down here to a meet at South Beach some time in the near future... Remember now - we talked about this! There's some good stuff to see down here...

Do South Beach in the fall, when Miami is playing a home game. My attendance would be guaranteed...

Yeah, the Auto Show was a bit lackluster this year. However, you can't expect much considering what the economy, and more notably the domestic auto makers, have gone through recently. We went on the last Saturday of the show, hence the mobs of people (I hate crowds and I DID NOT like being there either).

I'll definitely head down to Florida if someone sets a meet up. I'd love to do the cruise with you guys but I just can't afford that kind of trip.

Yeah, crowds and downtown where the killer for me. Glad I made Friday night though. It was nice to put faces I hadn't met in Aug. to names I have. I never dreamed when I joined this board that I'd make real face to face acquaintances and friends.

The real predators cruise the internet in dark sunglasses and use their beagles as bait.

    Wait, what

And drive white vans, and take pictures of unsuspecting women in restaurants.

This was the best meet yet! Number two would have to go to the '07 Des Moines meet, where I met Jesda, Gary, John Rau & others for the first time. The weather was so nice that meet, and the drive wasn't as long, and the women...the women. Does anyone else remember the very voluptuous waitress from Porky's? It was also the last meet I actually had a Cadillac for!

I hate crowds as well, but I still enjoyed the show. McCormick Place is just too freakin' huge. But I enjoyed seeing the new Cadillacs, making fun of the Acuras, pissing off Toyota reps and oogling the hot booth babes, especially at Fiat and Dodge.

Me, either. And it's been great. I found this site via Google looking for info to diagnose a problem with Cruella, and I've made a bunch of friends. I certainly wouldn't travel halfway across the country five times (twice by car) if I didn't have a blast at every one of these meets.

Re: To all the weird people I met over this past weekend...

It did seem very very crowded given the current economic climate.

I used to love auto shows, but it seems to be wearing off now that I am older. But, we did get some good photo and video spoofs

btw guys, I have a line on a great T-shirt maker. Revolutionary new stuff. The entire shirt is printed with whatever graphics in however many colors you want. They are not cheap, but trust me when I tell you, their shirts are amazing.

If you guys want to get shirts for the next meet made, I can come up with something hot. I already have some ideas. And the really cool thing is that each shirt can be unique, and the cost is the same. Meaning everyone could have their own forum name, different cadillac logos, or anything you want. I am guessing the cost is around $40 a shirt.

If I can get an orange shirt, I'd be all over that!

And I like Jim's idea. I'd hit up a 'Fins game.

Well I must say meeting Sal face-to-face and hearing his praises for my ESC-V project convinced me to go Platinum.

So where's that video of my exhaust note?
