Still two days from home. But the Seville is way more comfortable than a seat on Delta. Even if it's slower. But at least I can take my dog along. |

I'm saving my money for the $275,000 Boss 429 Mustang we saw at Volo. I hope it's still there in 2023.
Mike

It was pretty funny.

Between hanging out with you guys, the huge turnout Sunday for the CarPC meet, and opening up the car on the way home (142MPH was the best I could do with plenty of pedal left), I somehow managed to burn up two sensors. The SES was seriously stuck on by the time I got home. Luckily, the CarPC has OBDII, so I was able to read the faults on the go and knew it wasn't too serious - IAT low voltage and Emmission System Bank 2 Sensor 1.
For the fix, I just went out and got the sensors, searched the forum for repair techniques and "gotter done." I had no idea how poorly the wiring was on this car. Both sensors had corrosion of the wire at the connector and that's what caused the faults. Thank God, the O2 sensor was the front one - I just snaked in a crescent wrench and had it done in no time. The IAT sensor was another matter - I had to take a trip out to the junk yard and find the correct wire and connector to replace the entire line. I made sure to solder/shrinkwrap/tape the new splice and put silicone all over the connector end where the wires corroded the last time.
It's been a week I cleared the codes on Saturday and I'm back to no codes and redoing my GM driving cycles. I don't know if it was my added vents or the mod to open up the hole below the PCM but my IAT is now pretty constant at 86 degrees at 70 MPH and ECT is 192 degrees. Ready for the next roadtrip! |
