Well it seems nobody else wanted to step up to the plate and get something going so this is going to be another midwest meet planned by your favorite meet planner- ME!!
Ok, heres the deal-
Friday April 25th to Saturday April 26th (or 27th depending on interest)
The meet is going to be mainly in Davenport Iowa. Davenport is 2 hours from Des Moines, two hours from Chicago and three hours from St. Louis.
Friday night: Drag racing at Cordova Raceway in Cordova Illinois. This is about 10 minutes from Davenport. Going to the track obviously does not require racing. Bring your car out to show it off and hang out!
Racing goes from 6:30pm until 1am
After racing go back to the hotel in Davenport and have some drinks
Saturday:
Meet at 12pm for a group drive around the area
Depart for group drive at 12:30 PM
Arrive at restaraunt for lunch/meet at 1:15PM
Leave for home around 4 or 5pm on saturday.
If there is enough interest:
Go out to dinner and hit some clubs/bars in Davenport/Quad Cities on Saturday night.
Party all night
Go for a group breakfast on Sunday morning
Play golf (for those interested) on Sunday at 1:30pm
Head for home after golfing or after breakfast
This is just the prelimanary plan. I did the midwest meet last year and it all worked out perfectly- I WONT DISAPPOINT!
I will get us a group rate on a hotel and plan the dining/drinking/meet spots as interest increases and I do some research of whats good in the area.
Thats it- SPREAD THE WORD AND POST IN HERE ABOUT WHAT YOU THINK!
Is Davenport south of Des Moines? I'm thinking 4-5 hours from St. Paul..... I'd still show though!
It's a good date too....I'll be 21 by then (4/15!) and I can go drinking LEGITIMATELY this time, instead of almost getting all of us kicked out of certain bars (cough....cough), plus it's two months after the Chicago meet, which leaves me plenty of time to save up.
I'm still kinda sour about not getting to go to the track last year, I'd love to run my car, even though it's best time would probably be a 16.5 LOL!

well two hours from chicago sure beats the 5 hour drive I had last year
lets start looking at hotels and giving them calls to see if they will do a group rate. start to post a link to this thread in the other forums otherwise many that might come might miss the opportunity.
Im there.... stock car.. non-drinker... no LAUGHING! lol I was thinkin about seein about gettin one together down here in ST. Louis late summer. Guess you beat me to it.
Where did you guys have brunch? GC is my home town. Im guessing that was some upscale brunching! I am looking to take more time off in April. Sounds like I found a good weekend to make a little longer!
My female friend who's husband wrecked her 05 V (last month) is from the Quad cities. The coincidences just keep coming.

Alright, Nick!! You're the man! I might be able to come for this--I'm still trying to sell my house in Newton, and so I've been travelling back and forth on certain weekends to continue working on the interior of the house.
I won't have a Cadillac, but "Lady Lincoln" (my '97 Town Car Signature) will be there.

My best is 14.7. That was on a very hot and humid night. The pressure was also very low due to the fact it was very stormy that weekend (got rained out the next day). Most people said I should run .5 to .7 lower on a cooler night with better pressure.
I am betting I can get 14.5 or better at the meet in April. First race night of the year hopefully it is cool and crisp! HEHEHE
Im in faukers! and I will get out of line on purpose :suspect: then dot both of nicks eyes when he tries to Step UP! :want:Then jump in the V and he will wont be able to catch me either

You know I'm in, plus Davenport, awesome that's only about 2 1/2 hrs. from me. I just hope that this year some people show up who can drink as much as us WI boys.
I stayed in Davenport once, really nice city, I remember going to some place to gamble and also to a strip club.

I was at CF raceway once this past summer... got shown up by an SRT8 charger, because I pussed it off the line and in the shifts so that I didn't break anything
It would be a different story if it weren't the wifes car
You be there hoe! AHAHAHA! You have a northstar Fiero right? Man I would LOVE to see that thing at the track!
