Guy's,
I'm a first time Cadillac owner. I bought a used 2006 CTS with 29K miles on. The car is awsome, great shape..I love it.

My question is does anyone know how to get your cell phone to linc to the speakers so I can use the interior mic and speakers for phone calls? The car has ONstar and the rear view with the buttons on it but I have no idea if I can do this or if i need to use the Onstar portion and pay for this feature.
Since its a Caddy I figured this should not be an issue nor should I need to buy anything to make this work.

Am I making any sense?..Has anyone done this before? ALso, do any of the 2006 models come with blue tooth ??..

I checked the manual and I cant find anything on this..

ThankS!!

Hey guys I'm about to buy new tires today or tomorrow. I want something wider to give me a more aggresive look. The 245-45-17 is about 3/4 of an inch wider which I think will look damn good. It shouldn't make it stick OUT more really should it? Just be wider in the wheel well I'm hoping. Also, this size tire is cheaper on tirerack than the stock size. Is anyone else running this tire size? Or something similar to 9.64" wide? And does anyone have any pictures? Thanks

What high performance exhaust is available for the CTS 3.6? I'm not looking to replace the entire system, including cats. Just the over axle pipes and mufflers with tips. I had the GM off road performance exhaust (made by Borla) on my '05 Corvette and it sounded perfect. So I'm lookig for something similar, that has a rumble to it (not a ricer type whine, like a mosquito).

here's the deal, ive been looking for some of these items for a couple weeks and havent really turned up anything.
do you guys know of anywhere that i can get these parts... or anywhere better than the places i have found

1. interior led swap incld. reverse and plate light (superbrightleds.com)
2. door sill kick plates- i cant find them anywhere, want something that says CTS or Cadillac, would be a bonus if i could find some for the rear doors aswell
3. seat belt shoulder pads - i like the black satin ones here http://www.seatbeltpads.com/cadillac.htm but the paypal for the site isnt working- do you guys know of anywhere else with nice Caddy/ CTS ones?
4. Stainless steel tips, ive seen the EG Classic, Magnaflow, etc... mainly looking for recommendations on a quality well priced product

5. Black Raven oem sport grille, im guessing Lindsay Cadillac or keep an eye out on ebay
6. Wire mesh lower grill with same size and pattern as sport grille mesh

7. X-pipe, magnaflow has 2 styles, the Tru-X and Tru-X Crossovers, and is it clamp or weld on? and also, what are the gains/ benefits and any draw backs of an x-pipe?

thanks for any help, opinions, and recommendations!

Ok this is weird and hopefully an easy fix...

Not long ago i was driving and i noticed that right as 1750 RPMs there is a rattling under the car... It sounds almost like sheet metal vibrating against something.

I suspect it's a cover for the exhaust. Tonight i got tired of listening to it and had a friend hold the car at 1750... well i heard it definitely coming from the driver side area behind the wheel...

Just to make u guys laugh i reached under to try and maybe hold something to see if it would stop... and long story short i think i won't have fingerprints when my middle and ring finger heal... =/

So any thoughts? has this happened to anyone before, and not the burnt finger part the rattling part...

When we bought our 2004 3.6L HFV6 CTS Luxary Sport we got a great deal at the local Stealshership. In fact, it was priced below what a private party would have sold the car for since they just took it as a trade-in. Luckly, my wife talked me into getting the best warranty they had available "just in case".

Well, I would like to say that my beautiful wife was right! We certianly needed every bit of the warranty. What we spent on the warranty paid for itself many times over now. In fact, if we had to pay for the repairs, it would have cost over half what we paid for the car!

Below is all that we have had to have done under warranty:

- Front struts, sway bar links, tie rod ends and 4 wheel alignment - clunking front end that ended up being something not tightened properly when they did the brake job in order for it to pass Safety (oh well).
- New Piston rings and valves rebuilt - burning oil
- New Radiator - coolant and trans lines pulled out when driving (towing was covered)
- Coolant Sensor / Thermostat - Check Engine Light

Right now the car has 135K kms (approx 84K miles) and the warranty will be expiring before too long.

What else should I expect to go? The odds are that more issues will crop up the day after the warranty expires...

Hey guys,

I was inspecing my brakes this weekend when I discovered my right (passenger side) outer tie rod end is loose. I grabbed the rotor and moved it left and right and it is definatly loose and you can hear and see it move and clunk a little. I have an '06 with 104k Michigan road miles on it. Has anyone replaced their outer tie rod? Did a search and come up with nothing. I've seen it done on other cars thru Youtube videos I searched for so it seems like a DIY job.
any thoughts or tips?

My last car (06 grand prix) got totaled out last week and im looking at buying a 05-07 cts to replace it. Any suggestions on what to look for? Also, how reliable are these for daily use? I drive 83 miles a day roundtrip for work. Should I be concerned buying from someone whose not a caddy dealership? I've got a line on a 06 with 42k miles, 3.6 with nav and a sunroof for $18,500. I kind of want one with less then 25k miles but that means I have to go down to a 2.8 with no options for the same price range.

I am wondering if there is any way to run the wire to the camera without having to drill a hole. The car is in VA and I'm in FL, so I can't look myself. I am hoping that it can run in the same place the license plate lights are located or something else near by. Any advice would be very much appreciated.
I noticed noticed last week that my corner bulb in my headlight went out. ive talked to the dealership and they said they will need to take the whole bumper off and it would cost me some serious cash just for this little light bulb. This doesn't seem right to me so i thoguht i would ask the REAL professionals on this forum. So, has anyone changed this bulb or tried to? and if so has anyone changed it out with another color? i have seen this done on another cts and im just trying to get some answers. THANKS!

I was driving my 03 CTS when the display came up something like "Reduced Engine Power" and I could only go about 3 mph. I let the sit for a minute and tried driving but the transmission was shifting kind of hard and I kept getting the same message and the engine would go to minimal power. I'm getting the P0700C error code and it keeps coming back if I try to clear it. There are no other current codes. What are the possible problems and how do I fix it? Any help would be appreciated.

hey guys, new to the forum here, but not to auto repair. I'm an ASE tech here in MA. who will be heading to florida in a few weeks for vaca. while down there i'll be doing a timing belt change, and valve cover gaskets on my brother's 03 cts. I have the tool kit for the timing belt, but just looking for tips or suggestions.

Also I've been reading the valve cover gaskets leaking might be a PCV issue, any suggestions there? Do I need to get an intake gasket set, or are they reusable o-ring type? Can I just clean the PCV passages and replace the gaskets, or do we need to replace the PCV system???

Lastly, the dealer list 2 different gasket sets for the v/c's, any idea the differenc? I'm going to be getting them up here because of my discount and would hate to have to buy both sets and tie up the cash til i get back to return them????

Thanks in advance,
It is White Diamond and I replaced the stock wheels with 16" American Racing Black spokes with stainless rivets. Now I bought a BLACK grill...same as the one on it but black looks better than gray. It looks pretty simple to replace. I took out a few of the fasteners to see if it was difficult. It looks TOO easy...Any tricks?
Also , if anyone wants the OEM 7 spoke rims...silver painted 16" with 4 new Goodyear Eagle all seasons , let me know. $600. for 4.

In getting prices for my 100K CTS service I'm getting different quotes and different information. I asked for them to replace the water pump with the timing belt, one gave a quote for the water pump, one gave a quote for a single "aux" water pump, the third said I had two - water pump and "aux" water pump (two of the quotes are Cadillac dealers!)

For those who have had this work done were there 1 or 2 water pumps and what were they called?

Thanks - Bruce

P.S. Also appreciate any comments on doing the transmission fluid exchange (I've never done it), my driving is not 'dusty' and probably 90%+ freeway.

I just did the 90K maintenance with a laundry list of stuff fixed 3 months ago.
However I have been getting an odd reving sound in 5th gear if im on the throttle and it stops when I release the throttle. Hard to explain it, not really a "high pitch" sound but its higher than it normally would be, it pretty much sounds like the engine is working harder than it should be even though I'm only at around 3k rpm. It didnt happen all the time but finally the check engine light came on last night while it was happening.

Just trying to get an idea what it could be as I try to make arrangements to get it checked out. Thanks

Since I got my CTS the trunk wouldn't really latch. If I really push it down, it will catch the latch, but when I go over a bump or pull on the trunk, it will just open.

I looked at the plastic bit on the trunk lid that latches on to the bottom part, and the black plastic latch seems to be gnarled a bit. I've ordered a replacement for this (on its way). But I do have to press my trunk down pretty hard in order to get it to engage at all, which leads me to believe that maybe my trunk isn't going down far enough?

On your CTS, do you have to press the trunk down when you close it, or can you gently close the trunk?

Any help is hugely appreciated.

I have an '07 CTS, White Diamond with the 3.6 Liter engine. I have just under 17K miles on it (bought the car new). I like everything about the car. I haven't had any problems at all. The engine is smooth as ice and very powerful. But there's one issue that I can't understand. The lousy gas mileage. If I do just straight city driving, I get about 12.2 MPG. Mixed city and highway - 14.5 to 15 MPG. Straight highway driving - 24.5 to 25 MPG. I'm very dissapointed with the gas mileage. I was expecting to get about 4 MPG better all around.

I had 2 Northstar Caddys - A '95 Eldorado and a '97 Deville. I got much better gas mileage with those cars which were powerful 8 cylinder cars, not to mention bigger and heavier cars. With the Deville, I regularly got 27.5 to 28 MPG on the highway.

In any case, why does the CTS get such poor gas mileage? Does the 2.8 Liter get the same mileage? This engine is so high tech and it's a 6 cylinder. I'm surprised the mileage is so poor. The CTS is pretty heavy for its size and it's pretty low geared - both of these can lead to poor gas mileage. The Eldo and Deville that I had were both very high geared with a lot of free coasting after you took your foot off the gas.

It appears to me that Cadillac is addressing this issue (gas mileage) for the 2010 CTS. I read that they changed the standard engine to a 3.0 Liter with 270 HP, but much less torque than the 3.6 Liter. The 3.6 Liter engine is a great engine - why would Cadillac change to a different engine? In my opinion, it has to have something to do with the MPG. By the way, the 3.6 Liter is still available, but it's an option now.

In any case, please let me know if you're getting similar MPG and your insight as to why the CTS gets such poor mileage.

Hey guys I have been talking with a company I use to deal with because there is no carbon fiber parts for the CTS's.

We have been getting together and they are willing to make parts starting with a Hood if we can get enough people. For now this obtains to the first generation cts models but if it sells I will work a group buy for second gen.
Then other parts will come like fenders and trunk lids.

OEM style carbon fiber hood

10 People $775 shipped

20 People $750 Shipped

50 People $675 Shipped

Well everyone Lets make this happen that is over 225 cheaper than a heavy powerdome fiberglass hood.

Okay I got one for the experts, I own a 2005 CTS and I am not the first owner and I don't know the history of the vehicle. I bought it as 'project' / 'drive to work' car to keep miles off my XLR.

Within the past couple of days the car doesn't want to start. Insert key, dash lights up, turn key no start, sounds simple but here is the weird part. When the car is in its 'I don't want to start' mode you can remove the key and the car is off. Turn the lights on and car energizes all the way to the fuel pump whine and odometer display, with the key out of the ignition. The further you turn the stalk from off the more systems come on line, just like the key. It even displays a Theft Deterent Error on the DIC when the key is out of the ignition. If you insert the key while the car is 'headlight' on, the lock on the instrument panel will go out. I have no idea where to look, a OBD II scanner shows no codes.

I am kinda thinking BCM?

Anybody seen anything like this before?

I bought an 05 CTS in the spring with the 3.6L engine and a 6 speed transmission. I've wanted to own a manual since I started driving but have always had automatics. Well, now at 40, I decided to get one LOL. Anyway, I've been driving this car for about 6 months and like it a lot. The transmission makes driving to work a lot more interesting and fun and the car is quite, comfortable, and a lot of fun.

My question is about the quality of the transmission. My dad had a manual BMW 325e back in the mid 80's and I think I remember the transmission feeling just flat out "better" than my CTS. Now this was 24-25 years ago so maybe it's the drive :) but what's the consensus on the CTS transmission? My feeling is that it's notchier, clunkier, and harder to make fast smooth shifts but again....it might be my technique.

Thanks guys :)

Time to replace the tires on the wife's CTS. The OE Goodyear Eagle RS-A tires lasted fairly well with 40,000 miles on them currently. Got a quote for $509 installed on the Yokohama Avid TRZ tires, never had any experience with them. We did put Fuzion on our 2004 CTS, which my wife didn't like, so looking for options for a good tire with good ride quality and not too pricey. I also got a quote for OE replacement tires for $799 installed, but my wife thinks she is not keep the CTS that much longer (has her eye on an STS), so we don't want to spend alot on tires if we are getting something else anyway.

Any thoughts?

For those who does not want to spend $300 to be able to control your power outlets, cigarette lighters, with the key.

Well here's a step by step, sort of.....

1) Open your favorite drink and enjoy it. Trust me, it will take you longer to consume your drink than it will to do this project.

2) Open your hood and remove the cover for the fuse box.

3) Locate the fuses pictured below. Their in the general area of the center of the box.

4) Choose which outlet you want always on, or on with the key.

5) Remove the fuse, and move it over one terminal.

6) Test the outlet to see if it acts the way that you want it.

7) Close the hood and enjoy a dead battery free weekend. :-)

From the diagram of the fuses on the bottom side of the cover. You can see that those two fuses are the only one's that have a "extra" rectangle painted on the end. That means that they can be moved over from their factory position. Which is in the always on.

Currently, my CTS is in the shop. So I can't really test this part out. Does the outlet really turn off with the key? Or does it act like the radio, where it turns off with the first door being open. Either way, it won't be on forever.

ok guys so here is my dilemna - hopefully someone can chime in.

about a month ago by low beams go out, one after the other on the same night. i check all the fuses etc etc - everything checks out. i go to the dealer - they run 2 diagnostics, tell me i had a wire under the dash that wasnt grounded that shorted my bulbs, they supposedly fix the wiring prob and try to murder me on the bulbs, i order them from luke at lindsay and install myself. but they dont work - so i take it to my uncles electricians shop. he says the current is fine and the bulbs are good but hte ballasts are bad. says it happens from time to time. part from dealer is 360 per ballast - he tells me he can get me aftermarket installed on both for 260 so i do it. i get the car fixed - for the first few its cool, then my check engine light comes on. i take it to my mechanic who runs the computer and it has like 5 electricity errors (not sending enough voltage etc etc). he clears the codes and 3 days later they come back. he tells me the aftermarket ballasts are probably messing with the voltage and flow. so now it looks like i have to buy the oem ballast and install those...thoughts?

Hi guys! Last weekend I didnt drive my car on Saturday or Sunday. When I went to move my car on Monday morning at 1am, it wouldnt start. It had some power but still no go. So, I pushed it down the drive way a bit and jumped it off my GFs car. Came right up and ran all week, no problem. I think my radar detector drained the battery.

Now, this weekend, SAME thing. Only it was only Sunday I didnt drive it. Went to start it to go to work yesterday and no dice. Again, I think the radar detector did it. So, since my GF was already gone to work I called my uncle to come jump it. I jumped it off his truck no problem, but this time I had to hit the theft lock button thing under the shift boot to get it shifted. I drove to work and on the way, I got a service vehicle warning, a service stability warning, a TC light in the cluster and my cruise control wouldnt work. I get to work and park the car. When I go to lunch, same story. Gotta hit the button under the shifter boot and have all the warnings but the car runs perfectly fine.

So last night I unplugged the black battery terminal and let it sit for like four hours. NO change. Then today, I unplugged BOTH battery terminals and let it sit for about 30 minutes. Again, NO CHANGE.

I thought for sure disconnecting the battery would fix it. What gives? What am I missing? What else should I try?

THANKS GUYS!!

Nick

ive been thinking a lately i want a new car, there is nothing wrong with my cts and i love it, its been a reliable car, problem is my truck is a 2002 jimmy with close to 200k on it and has only needed a thermostat and just last week a wheel berring...cant complain, it owes me nothing but a tax credit on a trade in and a 2k gm loyalty bonus haha. im just afraid it is about to need a lot considering the mileage and how its still all mainly origional...

so , im lost at what to do... i either want a newer suv around the 10-15k price or to trade both my cts (im sorry) and the truck and just go 2009 or 2010 with a factory warrenty and just black out whatever i get car or truck.

so far ive been pondering with the ideas of the following:

04 ish yukon/tahoe/avilanche + my cts

2010 gmc Terrain awd(not sure if 4 or 6cyl but SLT2 not sure bout the nav yet and i still have to test drive one to see how it is and get more info on the awd specs...i dont want fwd with rw assist at 20% power...)

2009 CTS4 (im sure this will get a few votes and it is what im leaning towards cuz i love my cts)

g35x coupe or 4dr not sure

04 ish trailblazer + my cts

Trailblazer SS used but as new as i can find and no cts

i havent looked in person yet but there is a new VW small SUV i want to check out as well

basically my requirement is leather, sunroof, heated seats and not a honda and must have AWD or 4x4 as 1 car or just my winter car...i realy hate fwd thats one of the reasons i got the cts.

if im going ot only have 1 car ill be looking around the $30-35k mark and low km or bran new...its gonna be tough to find one used but ill hunt for a deal..maybe repo depo

so what do you guys think?

I've asked one of our forum members this question, and he's response was..... "WTF you asking me this for, this is a question that I should be asking YOU?!?!" :banghead:

Which is true, but still I asked.

Since I was looking on eBay for a replacement headlight, to replace the total driver's light. I saw a few auctions where it said that the item is HID, wish washer and adaptive/self leveling. In which case, I was like "what, our cars came with that option?" So of course I didn't know that self leveling was even an option.

Well I am wondering, could I buy a pair of these adaptive/self leveling headlamps for my car? Or will there be sensors or whatever missing. That is of course not on my car since it didn't come with that self leveling from the factory. I know that mine currently has the HID with the spray washer, and it does not have the self leveling since they do not adjust at all.

Thanks y'all,

Somehow my interior trim panel between the back window and the passenger door is broken on my 04 3.6. The the plastic that catches the screw behind the airbag logo is all busted. A new part is going to cost $120. I don't have a problem with that, what i do have a problem with is the dealer wants to charge me another $120 to install it. I'm certain I can do it myself but I need to thread the seat belt into the part and I'm not sure of the best way to do it. Has anybody ever done this or removed the rear seat belts? A little input would make me feel much better going into this little project. Thanks in advance!

I have a 2005 CTS and I was driving around the other day and I couldn't help but hear this really irritating squeaking sound coming from the driver's side d-pillar. So I drove it home and checked it out. For some reason the d-pillar cover (where the rear seatbelt is attached to) is really loose and I can pretty much yank it out if I had the desire to.
So I'm thinking there's a broken clip in there somewhere. Has anyone had this problem? And where is this clip, how can I access it, and how can I get a new one because I can't find it on gmpartsdirect.
I really need to fix it because it's gotten progressively worse and it's come to the point where driving my sister's 97 taurus is more of a treat to drive.:banghead:

Thanks guys

My wife was driving our 03 CTS and the coolant low message cam on the DIC and thought she just needed to add coolant. She drove for about 10 minutes to her destination and upon exiting the car discovered the engine was very hot. No other messages or lights came on to warn her. The problem was that the hose connection to the radiator broke and she lost all coolant. With no tempature gauge on the car she was not aware the engine was getting hot. After towing it to the mechanic he stated the damage was severe and I need a new engine due to the extream heat from coolant loss.

Anyone had this issue? Should Cadillac be responsible for not haveing a temp guage on board? As I said no other lights came on not event the check engine light. Now I am looking at a major bill to fix...

Any suggestions?

The car started stuttering like if it wanted to turn off but didnt only when stopped. When the car is going its fine.

03-early 04 CTS non nav head unit works as a code reader for all 03-07 CTS's and 04-07 CTS-V's

I had a stock early version disc changer from my CTS that I could pull all the codes from using the method in the FAQS. I upgraded to Nav later on(from an 05 0r 06), but the code reader part in Faqs didn't work. So it got me thinking it wasn't a change in the car but rather the head units for 2003/ early 04 CTS non Navigation System.
So having the stock changer left from my CTS when I sold it, I got the dealer to unlock the theft lock on it while installed in my V, not sure if it work or not.
Taking out the old head unit and pluging in the CTS changer takes like 2 Min.
Unlocking the theft lock cost 50.00. Sure enough it pulls the codes, I pulled a wheel sensor off just to F* with my stabilty system and throw a code. It pulled it and I was able to clear it.
The CTS code reader pulls every code from the car, not just engine codes, but body codes, chassis codes, and network codes.
You can find the base CTS head units on ebay for around 100.00 or less, most people think they are relatively worthless, not knowing about the code reader, the whole reason I held on to it. You should be able to tell if it's an early model because they have a cassette player in them.
To pull codes for the 03-early 04 head units, follow the instructions in the Faqs.

Press and hold the F1 and F6 buttons simultaneously; the Driver Infomation Center (DIC) will clear and a menu will appear to read and clear DTCs. (Need to confirm this method)

Anytime I have any problem I can just swap out head units, then pull and clear codes. Should serve me well untill I get a tuner.

Anyway, I was curious if it's possible to remove the front emblem and replace it with one of those crystal/grayscale emblems? Has anyone done this?
Another thing is that the orange side marker is bothering me. I was wondering if there's a guide on how to remove it and replace it with white ones, or should I just not even bother and tint it instead?

Hi All,

Wondering if anyone else has had this problem and what the fix for it was.

My car blows cold air out the driver side, I can't get heat out of it no matter what I do. The passenger side works fine though.

So, my first thought is that it's the motor (actuator) that opens and closes the flap for the heat.

But, when I start the car in the morning it's cold obviously. Usually the hvac fan will stay off until the car warms up enough and then it will start blowing heat. What's happening now though is that the car starts blowing as soon as I start the car.

I can't quite figure out why this would be happening. If I jack the temp on the driver side way up or way down it starts blowing like crazy so it seems the HVAC computer itself is ok.

I'm thinking maybe it's the thermometer? If the termometer stopped working would it default to some base temperature? The outside temp these days is around 50, I have my hvac set to around 75 degrees. That would mean that the default would have to be below 50 for it to think that the car is too warm and it needs to fire up the fan right away then no?

What I've had to do is leave it on vents only, close the driver side vents, and point the passenger side vents towards me.

Thanks to anyone for help,
Robin.

I just bought this CTS first one. I am moding this car heavy. Exhaust is done except for my custom down pipes and headers, eventually im using the STS turbo kit for the CTS-V and tuning it with HP Tuners. Stage 4 Clutch, and of course Nitrous.

I am in process of installing a dvd oem navigation on my 2003 cadillac cts that I just bought today from auto wreckers in ontario, toronto. Will make sure to take loads of pictures step by step for forums members for future installation. Does anybody know where would I be able to find the vss wire from and how do I tap in? I read the faq several times but couldnt understand the tapping part. I already have got the cd and the antenna. I paid around $298.00 cad incl tax for the navigation (came with the cd) and $105.00 incl tax for the antenna. Does that price sound reasonable to you guys?

Picture is from the junkyard car!
Buttons are all chipped out :( gotta replace them asap

i was looking at getting a K&N intake (57 series) for my 2006 3.6L but had a few q's.

first, driving in the winter, with temps being anywhere from 0*C-20*C (sometimes down to -30*C at night) would i be better to put the stock air box back on in the winter? or does it not matter?

second, guy in my program said he put one on his 01 SS monte carlo and it killed his gas mileage.. yay or nay? i was thinking it wouldnt be affected much and if it was it would be for the better since there is colder air entering the engine...

third, with the filter being more exposed, how big of a concern is rain/ water

fourth, will there be any problems with the MAF sensor? dont know what, just curious

fifth, this intake Vs. the volant?

lastly, should i not even bother? (depend upon the answers from above i suppose)

I’ll start with an apology but I haven’t found anything helpful on 50,000 mile maintenance after looking for quite some time and searching several different ways. So, if I’ve missed it, my apologies. Please direct me there.

That said, bought a 2006 CTS 3.6L six months ago. Have put a little over 2,400 miles on it, but, am slowly creeping toward 50,000 – and the end of the OEM warranty. The dealership sent me a card a few weeks ago with a whole list of stuff that is supposedly in need of doing. I do have an extended GM warranty that I bought from them. So … WHAT do I have to have done in order to keep my warranty in force? Or, what should I have done? Is there anything I can tell them to stuff without risking the validity of my warranty? Is there anything I should definitely have done before the warranty expires?

I love, Love, LOVE this car and really do try to keep on top of all of it. (This from someone who would rarely wash a car before and now runs for the hose at the first sign of dirt.) Appreciate any help you can offer.

Hi everybody.

I finally purchased through ebay (workforyou24h) a couple of items to deal with my OBD2 data port.

U581 Code Reader
http://www.memoscan.cn/en/showproducts.asp?Cid=10

This one is for the direct check of the error codes and works fine.
My 2004 CTS (LY9 engine) is under KWP2000 protocol instead of CanBus but it reads the codes anyway.

ELM327 Bluetooth Interface
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=250516377146

With this one I intend to check the info in my carputer and pc, using some useful tools that I can offer you for free (see attached).

Acceleration Timer, to know how fast yo do the 0-60 mph.

OBD Manufacturere Database, to know the meaning of the error codes given by your car.

DashCommand Lite, reduced version to show you some information, including GT-R style gauges.
http://www.palmerperformance.com/pro...dows/index.php

PCMScan, the complete tool to know what's going on. Includes those GT-R gauges and allows you to perform dyno tests. Don't miss it.
http://www.palmerperformance.com/pro...scan/index.php

In return, I need someone to provide feedback for the AUTERRA stuff:

http://www.auterraweb.com/

DynoScan at 219.99 $
http://www.auterraweb.com/dyforwiusb.html

S-201 GM enhanced OBDII Software at 49.99 $
http://www.auterraweb.com/gm-enhanced-obdii.html

Any experience with those tools?
According to their webpage, the GM software is the best option if you want to avoid visiting the Cadillac dealer for service.

But i want to hook my iPod to the radio without a fail FM transmitter or Modulator.

I have been told if i plug in the XM modulator i can get the XM stations then use a kit for that. I have also been told that plugging it in will not work...

I would love to do the double DIN kit that leaves the DIC but i don't have the skill to do it and every local sound shop doesn't wanna touch it.

So what are my options??

I heard somewhere that the DIC can be redirected to the Odometer display. Any truth to that?

please help me guys i really need this i drive alot and can't stand the radio
