Dropped the car off at a custom paint shop. Getting a two tone w/ the light platinum on top and a darker shade of "titanium" on the bottom. Also having a burnt orange pearl accent stripe done (slightly darker than the Hot Lava color) and the wheels will be painted to match the titanium color. The painter is a well-known guy out here in CA who happens to live next door to my sister. Saw his work in his driveway, struck up a conversation and he was all over the lines on the car - even pulled out some striping tape from his pocket and starting laying down a design for the stripe. I have the E&G kit already on the car, so this should make for an very unique - but tasteful - look for the CTS. I'll try to post some pictures when it is done, but won't be until the week of 7 December.

Interested in installing the clear Tail Lamp Package (GM p.n. 19211989) on my ’09 Crystal Red CTS, along with the factory rear spoiler.

On the Crystal Red car, the tail lights tend to blend in with the body color and the quarter panel, and in essence make the quarter panel look longer. On lighter or darker colored cars the contrast between body color and tail light color allows the rear body line of the quarter to actually show more distinctly, and the car looks better in that area in my opinion. I saw on another thread below where someone said the clear lights were a ‘90’s things and they didn’t seem to like them. Opinions??

Has anybody installed the clear light package on a Crystal Red car, or even seen one?

If anyone has pictures of one, PLEASE post if you can. Thanks!!

I have read back quite a while, so i now know the correct wheel offset for our CTS's. However I do not understand how a wheel which does not fit into the prescribed offest will effect the car. If I find a set of wheels with the correct lug patterb (5X120) but the offset it 25, will the wheels not fit, or what might the problems be?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I spent my weekend using the clay bar on my car. I had read many posts about claying your car and the results of all of that hard work. I was never persuaded that it was worth the effort, after all I keep my car waxed and it always looks good. Well I finally gave in and set aside a weekend to tackle the project. Let me start of by saying I have a black car and have often complained how much work it is to keep it looking good.
I used the Mother's kit that came with two clay bars. After the first fender I was convinced that I was going to need both, but by kneading and turning I got by with just one bar adn plenty to spare.
The difference in that finish is nothing short of amazing. The paint looks at least a mile deep and as smooth as a baby's butt. I applied a coat of wax and rolled the car out of the garage; it's so shiny it almost hurts to look at it in the sunlight. No swirls or streaks, just shine and plenty of it, well worth the effort.

Along with them what do you guys think about the chrome pillars? I also seen carbon fiber ones which may be nice to accent the carbon fiber on my interior. But for some reason i feel carbon fiber and all that chrome accents belong on a honda.

I just decided to search up the H&R springs just to see if they were going to be available. I ran into this website stating they have just added the H&R spring to their catalog on OCT 08, 2009. Can this be true? If so I'm going to be placing an order. I already have the eibachs installed on my car for 7 months already. Those H&R lowers the front by 1.4 and rears by 1.3. I think thats the perfect drop. The eibachs are only 0.8 in the front and 1 in the rear.

I see that they are Located in Temple City, CA. Which is only 10 minutes away from me. =D I'm going to have to give them a call to see if the H&R springs are available.

I'm sure that this subject has been covered before but I've searched the website and couldn't find the answers to my questions so I apologise if I'm rehashing something. I'm considering an E&G grill for a new CTS and there's a few decisions I need help with. Heavy mesh or fine mesh. The classic or the E series. If I get the heavy mesh and the brake duct covers, the brake duct covers are fine mesh. Does the two different styles look funny together. Also, on E&G's website the chrome piece on the hood and the piece along the top of the grill don't seem to line up, the hood piece seems to overlap in the middle and line up on the sides. How do these things hold up? Do they chip, do they fall off, are they hard to clean. I'd love to hear from someone who's had them for 2-3 years. Lastly, will I be doing justice to my car or is it just a little to much bling? Thanks in advance for any help anyone can give me.
