I have a 93 Deville. Tires are about a year old, but only have 5 or so thousand miles on them. Car has 119k mikes. When I go over a bumpy road the front is real noisy, sounds like a popping noise from my front passenger tire. I looked at the tires and they look to be wearing evenly, and I didn't see any cupping. I took it in for an alignment as it needed one anyway and they said that the tires were messed up on the inside and that they rotated them for me.

I went back to where I bought the tires and they say they cant find any problems with them.

Speed doesn't seem to factor in, though I am usually going under 40 when I hit the bumps / uneven roads and the car feels great on a nice flat road.

Does this sound like a tire issue, or something else in the suspension?

Hi,

I have an 01 Deville and I love my car. Everything seems to work well and I keep it tuned up every three months.

The thing is, when I drive above 60mph and I start to press on the breaks, I hear/feel a slight shimmy until the car slows down to about 30mph.

Is this normal or is there something wrong with the breaks?

I like the way the Deville looks and drives. However, it is getting a little old and the next choice would be the DTS. The DTS does not seem as long as the 01' Deville. But, I think I will still go with the DTS using the Deville as a trade in.

Anyhow, I'm more concerned about my breaks at higher speeds. I will be grateful for any help.

Thanks

I've been planning on replacing the front struts/coils/mounts/seats/insulators on our 2000 base deville due to its
harsh ride.

While perusing parts catalogs online and from collision parts books, I've found that Cadillac changed the front coils and upper coil seat in 2002.
I also learned that there are some other front suspension components that also were changed that year, like the control arms and knuckles.

I REALLY want the ride of the 2004 Deville that I once drove while on vacation.
My 2000 deville base has never ridden like that, and i bought it when it only had 18k miles on it.

So, my question is, do you think it's possible to retro fit my 2000 with the 02-05 front coils & upper seats without messing up the front end?

Has anyone ever done this?

thanks!

93 seville 4.6l--how do you disable service ride control?!!!

93 sts w/ 4.6l. strutmaster passive struts.. I purchased this car awhile back- and the dic flashes the "Service Ride Control" and I've had enough!!

It has strustmaster "passive" struts in it...I've been searching for weeks and can't find a detailed fix for the annoying "service ride control 84" on the DIC..

the guy I purchased the car from told me he had the struts installed at his local mechanic- but the idiot mechanic never followed the instructions to disable the code on the dash.-- the harness's in each wheel well are just hanging there...(I talked to Strutmasters, but they won't help me cause I'm not the "purchaser" of the struts)

.. I've been searching for weeks and can't find a definite fix for this.. I;m assuming a resister would go inline to the harness at each corner to "fool" the computer.. but I need a little more guidance... I did find a "fix" from a member, but he talks about going in through the trunk, and wiring through to a relay under the hood, and hooking up resisters in the trunk etc etc... he talked about 1.5 to 3 ohm.. etc etc... This sounds like it could be just done at each corner instead.

Can I just hook up resisters to the harness's on each corner with 2 ohm (5 watt) to replicate the factory suspension??

anyone out there that can help?

Thanks a ton!!

Had a Service Stability LCD warning along with an Anti-Lock Brake as well as Traction Control Lights that would come on and then go off the next time you started the car. Sometimes we could drive the car 5 times without these warnings coming on. they are either all three on or all three off. Cadillac Dealer Service Department diagnosis showed Brake Pressure Module Valve (BPMV) Pump motor Stuck. They Un-Stuck the pump Motor and ran several Anti=Lock stops to free-up the motor, and cleared the code. They said if the code returns I'll need to replace the BPMV. I checked with the Parts Department on the cost it is $1500.00. Needless to say if this occurs I'll probably seek one out in a Junk Yard, unless anyone can give me a better solution. Can someone tell me where this valve is located on the car.
