Just found out that my daughter is on her way to the hospital for pneumonia brought on by H1N1. 22 years old, asthma, smoker, with a 3 year old. I have thought and continue to think that the incidence of swine flu has been exaggerated to allow the government to justify expenditures which would not normally be justified. That said, any of you who have loved ones with the flu, God bless, and I wish you well.

The H1N1 vaccine was not available for my daughter, they don't have enough in our area, my granddaughter got the 1st of the two dose nasal inoculations last Friday.

straight from the movie plot of deth race 2000 comes 'Russian road roulette'

'We know that Eastern Europe is one of the world’s biggest underground gambling hotspots so you can expect that those kooky folks over there to make the silliest and weirdest of wagers.

It turns out that in Bulgaria, they’ll bet over anything – even at the cost of their lives.

Recently, a group of whack jobs decided to play a betting game that involves running intersections on a red light to see if they can hit a car or an innocent bystander. We’re not making this up. It’s straight out of Grand Theft Auto, only this time, successful drivers can be rewarded by as much as $7,000.

The game has come to be known as ‘Russian road roullete’ and an increasing number of Bulgarians have been participating in this deadly game. Authorities have begun to launch an investigation as to who runs this game, especially since a growing number of incidents have been reported since the game took off during the summer.

Among those that have been caught in the crosshairs of this game, include two people that met untimely deaths after being hit by motorcycles in two separate incidents.

So let this be a warning if you somehow find yourself in Bulgaria in the future; just crossing the street in that country has become a life or death experience.'

From what I've heard the genius thought it would be a good idea to swerve between lanes at 140 in a damn JEEP! Six people were hurt and only one of them was wearing a seatbelt. How stupid can you be, not wearing a seatbelt in a car w/o a roof!

The Poughkeepsie Journal says Governor Paterson admitted on a New York City radio station that the controversial new license plate fee was nothing more than a revenue grab.

For some time now I've wanted to import popular US food and drink into the UK.

Stuff you guys take for granted is not for sale over here, for example until recently we didn't have Mountain Dew over here (and I suspect that the one they are starting to sell is now proper Mountain Dew). Even the UK Costco stores don't sell it, annoying a sI love me the Code Red. :highfive:

There are a couple of specialty stores in the mall who sell a few cans of pop or candy bars, but at outrageous prices. Over TWO DOLLARS FIFTY PER CAN.

Given that you can buy this stuff in the US real cheap and bulk shipping (eg partial container) is negligible when you break it down per tiny item, I figured I might look into importing the stuff myself with a view to selling it.

So my question is, what do the popular cans of pop cost in the US when you buy them in the big multipacks (especially if you get a deal)? What if you wanted to buy a couple of palettes of it?

I was thinking of importing stuff like Lucky Charms as we don't get those either...

So I met up with some friends yesterday for lunch across town, they both have Town Cars, one is a triple black '96 Signature Series and the other is a champagne colored '88. I rode in the '96 and drove the '88.

I always liked the way those '80s Town Cars looked. They had the monumental, imposing design of the '70s models, just scaled down a bit for more modern times and easier maneuverability. My favorite design aspect of the car is the grille and hood...it just looks so imposing, and when you're behind the wheel, it's very cool to look down that long hood and see the fenders raised above the hood, leading off into the distance. Plus, with having the fenders raised so high above the hood, it's much easier for me to maneuver in a tight spot (I've got lousy depth perception).

The interior was great in that '80s American sense too. Soft, deep seats covered in a soft leather, acres of DEEP shag carpeting, lots of chrome & faux wood and lastly, TONS of room, front and back. Another little thing that I thought was cool about it was how they have the vent windows for smokers, or in our case, farts (we had Chinese for lunch) that roll down before they main window does. That's something that I wish they still made nowadays.

The 302 made decent power for a car of it's day. The way the power came on reminded me a lot of the 4.3 in my Astro. A good deal of low end torque, but not enough to get you into trouble or get your blood pumping, but enough to move around in fair confidence. It had the single exhaust, so it was rated at 150hp and 270 lb/ft, so obviously, speed is not this car's forte, but when was the last time you saw a Town Car that was honestly fast? I would say that between the EFI 302 and 4bbl 307, the 302 does offer more power, but it's not a huge difference. Now, compared to the other Town Cars I've driven, the 4.6 offers just as much low end torque, but a lot more midrange power, but it's tough to say because I didn't take the '88 out on the freeway. Compared to the '77 I drove a few years back, the 460 makes a lot more low end torque, so I remember that being the quickest, but I'm sure the 4.6 models are up there too.

What I couldn't believe about this '88 was the absurd level of silence when moving. The engine is silent, there's no wind noise, there's no tire noise, just dead silence. I remember it being quieter than the '96 I rode in shortly before. Honestly, it's one of the quietest cars I've ever driven.

I'd say between the '88 Brougham and '88 Town Car, I like looking at the Brougham more, but I'd rather drive the Town Car. There's more power, it's more advanced, it's got more direct steering (if you can call it that), and it doesn't bob from side to side as much (my buddy agreed on that too, and he's owned 3 Broughams). The '88 has much better steering feel than the '77 did, but that's like saying that Cameron Diaz is more attractive than Roseanne Barr. Also, from what I remember, it seemed to steer a lot like a '90-'94 Town Car, before they added the driver adjustable settings to stiffen it up quite a bit. But not having the rear air-sprung suspension, it didn't bob and bounce as much as an early '90s Town Car either, which was good, because those could cause a feeling of nausea.

So yeah, I've been wanting to drive one of these for a while now. It's a nice combination of the '70s look and style with the drivability of an early '90s model. It would be better if they offered the 351 as optional, much like the police interceptor Crown Vics from that era, but it's not the end of the world.

Good morning! Hate starting an intro with a following question but let me do a formal introduction! Live in Houston, TX and I have a passion for boats and Harley Davidson! I have a 300C which was my favorite car to drive down to the marina but the new CTS that I picked up yesterday...fascinating to say the least and the favorite car that I will be driving now!

Bought my wife a CTS for her birthday several 2007 with the old body style. Loved the car and upgraded to a fully equiped 2009. First time using the FOB!

This morning, she wanted to play by programming settings, etc. but she could not open the door. I have been searching throughout the forum for a while and can't find the answer.

We left the FOB far away from the car, but the distance probably was not enough. I attempted to open the trunk and all I hear is a disturbed click as if it needs some more juice. I do not have the flat key - What options do I have to open the car or hood?

Any help or link would be greatly appreciated.

DETROIT, Nov 13 (Reuters) - Ford Motor Co (F.N) plans to develop an all-new police interceptor car to replace the Crown Victoria law enforcement vehicle lineup in 2011, the automaker said on Friday.
Ford, the No. 2 U.S.-based automaker behind General Motors Co [GM.UL] in terms of overall sales, sells 45,000 police vehicles each year in the United States, or about 75 percent of the total. It will end production of the Crown Victoria in late 2011.
The automaker expects no interruptions of production as the replacement for the Crown Victoria is brought on in 2011, it said. Ford plans to unveil the new model and specifications in the first quarter of 2010.

'Legal battles involving trademark claims are nothing new.

This one, however, is a little surprising considering that the two protagonists come from completely different industries.

In the blue corner is German carmaker Porsche. On the red corner, it’s footwear designer Crocs.

Their squabble: the rights to use the name ‘Cayman’ in their products. Porsche is claiming that the name ‘Cayman’ is trademarked for its exclusive sports car and that Crocs, which sells a plastic cog bearing the same name, should refrain from using ‘Cayman’ again. Predictably, Crocs is staying on course and in a statement that was filed in their quarterly reports, the footwear brand has stated that they will “vigorously defend themselves against these claims”.

We haven’t gotten further comments from the two squabbling brands although if you ask us, we don’t think that these two are risking anything by just letting things go. Apart from catering to distinctively different markets, it must be pointed out that a Porsche Cayman costs around $50,000 while a pair of Crocs Cayman sells for just a shade under $30. Big difference, don’t you think?'

VS

i think some one is bored in the Porsche legal department. they really cant possibly think people buying a a pair of croc's would mistake them for a Porsche product. personally i wouldn't be seen in either.

So I have a confession, I am a total watch whore. I normally hate jewlery on men, but something about a very tasteful and expensive watch just conveys wealth and good taste. Some of my favorites:

Omega Seamaster(the James Bond watch):

Rolex Submariner:

Rolex Milgauss:

Tag Carerra:

Bulova 96P101

I'm a total James Bond nut, so naturally Omega is my watch. I really wish I had the type of coin to drop on expensive watches. If I ever struck the lottery, I swear I'd have a solid $200,000 invested in watches:bonkers:

Instead of continuing to hijack the thread with the Jeep buying advice I figured I'd start another about my new purchase. Back in a GM, not a Caddy even though I looked at several Deville convertible's and was dissapointed at the crappy condition of them. Bought an Oldsmobile, a '67 Cutlass convertible. Probably my favorite GM division in the 60's and 70's (along with Cadillac). I have had several Oldsmobile's and this is my second '67 Cutlass. My personal favorite Cutlass/442 body style. Looked at it and bought it this morning, exceeded my expectations and I bought it for a great price. No rust, straight car, just needs interior work (carpet and front seats redone). Per previous owner description (which was right on)

"White top over dark red body
ragtop approx. 3 years old
engine rebuilt @185,000 mi (currently 208,000)

Things just keep getting better at the General! Buick recently announced that they'll return the Regal to America, but it won't be as large as it used to. It'll slot in below the Lacrosse, and only be available with four cylinder power, so on a size basis, it'll align more with the late Satun Aura or Camry/Accord, but it'll be marketed upmarket towards the TSX and Volvo S60.

Now, when I heard four cylinders, I got a little leery, but, they've got two excellent four bangers, the 2.4 Direct Injection at 182hp and the turbocharged 2.0 (just like in the Solstice GXP and Sky Redline, except detuned a bit) at 220hp and 258 lb/ft. So in essence, it's a lot like my GS, but lighter, more fuel efficient, and geared tighter, so I'm guessing it'll be a lot faster.

With the 2.0 turbo, you're supposed to get 29 mpg on the highway (I get 27-28). It'll offer a driver selectable suspension system, 19 inch wheels, leather seats (heated in front), XM, Bluetooth, electronic stability control, and an optional Harmon Kardon Stereo and 10GB internal hard drive. So it'll compare very favorably with the TSX from a features standpoint, but the TSX won't have the torquey, reliable turbocharged four banger.

They also improved on the one thing I don't like about mine, the interior. The design is pretty blah and the build quality isn't great. The new one is much, much nicer.

I think we've got a winner on our hands.

Hi All. Joined last year and have been observing from the sidelines with nothing really to add to all the great info I've read. I must say there is a ton of valuable stuff here. I'm a currently lease an '06 SRX of which the lease is up in the next few weeks. I really enjoyed the SRX but have decided to replace it with a 2010 CTS 3.6 RWD Performance Pack. I ordered the car a few weeks back and hope to have it before Christmas which brings me to a question. I need to put winter tires on as I live in Ontario and the CTS comes with 245/45/19 summer tires. Can I put on an 18" wheel/tire combo or will it interfere with the larger rotors?

Volunteer needed to explain to parents that not all pit bulls are dangerous, and it depends how you train them. (sarcasm)

NEW ALBANY, MS — The 16-month-old victim of a pit bull attack has been identified as Destiny Marie Knox from Union County.

Her identity was released Friday by Coroner Mark Golding.

Her body was taken to Jackson for an autopsy while sheriff’s deputies investigated the killing, which occurred Thursday night when the child was attacked by a pit bull at her baby sitter’s mobile home.

Investigators say the mauling took place in a mobile home park in the Martintown community. According to investigators, the dog normally was kept chained near the house but had slipped out of its collar as family members were bringing in groceries and Destiny was on the floor nearby.

Chief Deputy Jimmy Whitten says the dog followed the family inside the house.

A 19-year-old man in the house tried to intervene by hitting and stabbing the animal, but when emergency responders arrived, the child was already dead.

Deputies shot the dog — reportedly one of five dogs, all pit bulls, that the baby sitter owned.

“When the deputies arrived, the dog had to be put down at the scene. The dog was acting vicious,” Whitten said.

Investigators found no signs that the dog had ever been mistreated.

“This dog was very healthy, very stout. It was well-kept, well-groomed,” Whitten said.

Neighbors said the woman’s dogs had always been kept restrained.

Holly Whaley, who also lives in the same mobile home park, never saw the dogs off their chains, but she feared them nevertheless.

“I walk around the area in the morning times sometimes, but I’m too scared to walk down that way because them dogs are out there,” she said.

My comments: We love dogs; we feed every dog we see. Pit pups are some of the cutest out there, adult pits too. How and why adults do not recognize the dangers is beyond me.

More of my comments: Tell me and those parents specifically how the owner should have trained this dog. Write down those instructions for the next tragic situation.

My rant is over.

Whaddya think? Much like the GT-R, I don't think it's a good looking car, but it definitely sticks out. Lexus must have cast iron balls to try and sell it for nearly $400,000 (Motor Trend estimates MSRP at 395k). Why are they shooting so high? I doubt it'll sell for that much money.

Just traded my 84 Porsche 944 for a 99 Catera. I thought I was getting rid of those over engineered knuckle busters. Surprise! The first page of the owners manual said designed and manufactured in Germany. This morning I opened the hood and could not find the plugs. Great, another manual I'll need to buy and probably special tools also. But, I'm retired so what else do I have to do. I've owned over the years most of the Porsche line plus Jags, Vettes, Camaros, Chevelles, even an 84 Cad way back. I'm looking forward to the knowledge there is to be had on the various fourms. Just where in the hell are those plugs?

Check this out!

In the December 2009 issue of Car and Driver, they (finally!) flog a 2010 Porsche Panamera Turbo though the full road test, coming up with a 0-60 time of 3.3 seconds and a 1/4 mile time of 11.7 seconds! With all due respect, it kicks the ass of the V, and any other sedan on the market today.

In the same issue, they have a comparison test between the Jaguar XFR, CTS-V (6M) and the E63 AMG. The CTS-V and XFR both dole out 4.3 second 0-60 times and the E63 whips it out in 4.0 seconds. But, on the other hand, the most expensive of the bunch is the E63, and that's still $30,000 cheaper than the Panamera. The CTS-V starts at $62,000 and the XFR is right around $80,000. Proving once again, that while it may not be the quickest, it's the best bargain, and the best looker!

But holy crap though, I can't believe there exists a full sized luxury saloon that does 0-60 in three point three seconds! That is literally 1/2 the time that a Northstar powered FWD STS or ETC will do it in!

Two guys sued Pepsi, claiming that they actually came up with the idea for bottled water 30 years ago and Pepsi stole the concept. For whatever reason, Pepsi failed to show up in court and defend themselves, and the judge ruled in favor of the plaintiffs to the tune of $1.26 billion (with a B) dollars.

When PepsiCo Inc. didn't show up in Jefferson County Circuit Court to defend itself against accusations it hijacked the idea of two Wisconsin men to sell water in bottles, a judge decided against the soft-drink maker and handed the pair one big gulp of a damage award - $1.26 billion.

Now PepsiCo, alarmed by the enormous default judgment, is pushing hard to have the award rescinded.
Although the case was filed in April and the damage award was handed down by Circuit Judge Jacqueline R. Erwin on Sept. 30, PepsiCo contends the proper people in the company didn't even know about it until Oct. 5 because of a series of miscues.

PepsiCo did not immediately respond to a Journal Sentinel request for comment, but company spokesman Joe Jacuzzi told the Associated Press the company feels it has been denied due process and wants the opportunity to defend itself, although it acknowledges an "internal process issue."

The case was filed by Charles A. Joyce of Juneau and James R. Voigt of Cleveland, who allege that in 1981 they entered into confidentiality agreements with an executive of Watertown-based Pepsi products distributor Wis-Pak Inc. and an executive of Carolina Canners Inc. of Cheraw, S.C., about their idea for a new product.

Joyce and Voigt contend that Wis-Pak and Carolina Canners breached their confidentiality agreement with them because Pepsi began making and distributing its purified bottled water product Aquafina. The lawsuit argues that PepsiCo used information it knew was secret when it began selling Aquafina years later.

Among the several ways that this story is shocking however, no aspect is more amazing than the fact that Pepsi hasa spokesman named Joe Jacuzzi- That's awesome!

From a Wall Street Journal article - "The New Art of Alimony"

"Paul and Theresa Taylor were married for 17 years. He was an engineer for Boston's public-works department, while she worked in accounting at a publishing company. They had three children, a weekend cottage on the bay and a house in the suburbs, on a leafy street called Cranberry Lane. In 1982, when they got divorced, the split was amicable. She got the family home; he got the second home. Both agreed "to waive any right to past, present or future alimony." But recently, more than two decades after the divorce, Ms. Taylor, 64, told a Massachusetts judge she had no job, retirement savings or health insurance. Earlier this year, the judge ordered Mr. Taylor, now 68 and remarried, to pay $400 per week to support his ex-wife."

The Cliff note version :
-Paul and Theresa Taylor were married for 17 years.
-They divorced in 1982, amicable split. Both agreed to "waive any right to past, present, or future alimony."
-Paul Taylor remarried.
-27 YEARS LATER, in 2009, Theresa Taylor (now 64) told a Massachusetts judge she had no job, retirement savings, or health insurance.
-Judge ordered Paul Taylor (now 68) to pay $400 a week for five years based on "dire immediate need" and "ability to pay" to support his ex-wife.
-After 5 years, payment will drop to $250 a week for the rest of ex-wife's life.

. . . I'm two cars behind, the guy in the lead is slowing inexplicably, so the guy in front of me flips a coin and switches lanes. Then the guy who was in the lead gets into the Left-turn lane and I have nothing but clear pavement ahead.

. . . the light turns yellow and the reptile part of your brain says, "Faster!"

. . . I walk up to my car and see the badges for the first time that morning.

. . . someone I just met sees my car for the first time. All Caddys are sweet for sure, but that Eldo look is just right.

That's all. Feel free to add. I just needed to vent, and it came out all positive this time.

prefer lithium ion battery, but will settle for nimh batteries.

Price cap at 200 dollars.

Cameras I like in my own research:

Fujifilm S1500 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16830122200

I'm leanign towards the fuji. An event photographer friend suggested it since it takes pictures using octagonal pixels, and had optical, and digital image stabilization.

I'm open to others. Hit me.

So not sure how many of you have seen/heard about it, but the long story is somebody in Minnesota had too much time on their hands over their long cold winters and after likely drinking a few too many beers thought that it would be a good idea to put their extra easy chair on wheels and make it gas powered. Ok all is fine and dandy until one day they decide to drive it home from the bar after having several too many and its now the property of the police and they have it up on ebay....last bid at $40,100 with 18 hours left!

Yes its cool and a novel idea and everything and got a fair amount of publicity....but paying $40 grand for a chair on tires with electric start and a tiny steering wheel makes some of us caddy fans seem incredibly sane! The link to the auction is below

Who here has seen this movie? Thoughts?

I just saw it last night.. pretty freaky. Particularly the ending caught me off guard.

I rarely go to movies in theaters but it was a group party so I thought I'd go anyways (plus I've wanted to see this and we finally got it in town :banghead:). After sitting there with people talking during the quiet parts, laughing during non-funny parts and the constant pulling up of stupid bright cell phones; I remember why I don't like movie theaters.
Screaming is perfectly fine... but please, take the next hour and a half without texting or updating your facebook status with "ScArEd @ PaRANoRmLL TIVITY!!!!! LOL OMG FML"

But I digress.

I recommend the movie to those who haven't seen it yet.. I was actually on edge and scary movies don't typically do that for me.
I think it lives up to all of the hype.

Good Afternoon,

I have set up an on-line petition for people to voice their opposition to the $25 license plate mandate. I'd ask that you support this effort (if you are opposed) by completing a short form petition and send this message to all in your address book. Our constituents are really upset about this fee.

The site was complete yesterday afternoon, advertised in the TU today and already has over 500 signatures.

Thanks.

I had this pointed out to me years ago and never forgot it......

You don't want to drive behind one and can simply pull-out in front of Any one you see to avoid doing so (Volvo drivers drive with their foot hovering just above the brake pedal at ALL times)

They are completely devoid of everything a car should be. They have no personality, performance, or styling. The Only thing they have is that "Safety" thing they push.

Who would give it all up to feel safer? Pussies that's who ;) (hehehe) Drivers who are So Scared of the road and over perceive it's dangers that they drive scared all the time.

HERE's their latest rap..... They now have a HeartBeat Monitor to detect a "bad guy" who might be hiding in the back to attack you as you enter!

They should be called "Vulvas" :D

And I think its still overpriced, or at least more of a luxury than I'm willing to part with my money for. Does anyone know who builds the display for Apple? Would be nice to find something almost as clean and sharp to plug into my Acer (which is running Mac OS X).

I usually hang around the RWD threads, but this time it isn't a Cadillac.

I've been wanting one of these for a while and the perfect one just sorta plopped down in my lap at the right time, so I snatched it up.

It's a '00 Chevy Silverado K3500 Crew Cab Extended Bed with the 7.4L engine and 4x4 on the floor. It has all the options, power everything, consoles galore - even an air sack in the seat that inflates/deflates for lower back comfort. Not a Cadillac, but a darn nice example of fine GM design.

But I've got a problem with the power locks, and they don't seem to function properly. You push the power lock button on either door and the levers on the doors try to move, and they move just a little bit, but not enough to lock the doors. But all four doors do actuate. The same occurs for unlocking. You press the button, and the levers move, but not enough to unlock the doors. They all just sorta wiggle. Right now I have to manually push each lever up and down to unlock and lock the doors.

The window sticker says the truck came with remote entry, but the remotes have been gone for a while. I'll probably get a pair off eBay and program them sometime, but it's useless if the levers won't actually unlock and lock the doors.

Any idea of what it could be? If it were just one or even two doors, I might suspect it just being gummed up. But all four doors? :annoyed:

Well, now, I got it running again, but anything above idling along, it seems to be either misfiring, or not getting enough gas. considering it is only one cylinder, I cannot tell the difference (of course I am not much of a mechanic either)

I was just wondering if anyone else has one of these mail-order scooters, and has any advice on my predicament. btw, the name of this scooter is Velocity. The word must mean something else to the Chinese

Just last week service Onstar stopped its first car jacking by disabling a 2009 Chevrolet Tahoe only 16 minutes after it was taken thanks to their Stolen Vehicle Slowdown system. Well this time the little blue button was still on alert, except that there was no cause for concern. The American tuning house Hennessey was testing their 700 HP Cadillac CTS-V at the drag strip when a hard launch measuring as much as .99 G of longitudinal force triggered one of Onstar’s safety parameters and caused an operator to contact the driver mid run down the 1320. Luckily no one was actually in need of assistance at the time, but this is just more reassuring proof that Onstar has you covered.

So I sort of impulse bought a Japanese mini truck earlier this year OTD for 6k. Then I spent another 1.5k fixing it up to be a cool little hunting truck. I was counting on Arkansas legislators making these things street legal this summer and running it around the city streets. When they didn't pass the law to legalize them what I was left with was a big 4 wheeler sitting in my driveway taking up space.

So I decided to sell it and get some $$$ back out of it. The trouble with selling it locally has been there aren't a lot of people with 7k burning a whole in their pocket nowdays. So I listed it on Ebay to appeal to a broader audience.

Last night a guy in Bald Knob, Arkansas used the buy now button (at 2:59 am :suspect:) and "bought" it for 6.5k. Yes there is a town named Bald Knob in AR.....it' not as bad as Booger Holler, AR. Bear in mind this guy is WELL within driving distance to me at ~~ 250 miles. So I'm all excited this morning that I sold it to someone I won't have to ship it to, and emailed the buyer (that has 0 feedback on Fleebay :hide:).
From what I can find if you want to have a professional company ship the truck you're probably looking at $1.50-$1.70 per mile or so to ship it on an open truck. They will consider cost of diesel fuel, insurance, driver salaries, an so on into their quotes. That would probably cost you an additional $350-$450 to ship. You're welcome to get shipping quotes on your own and arrange to have it picked up though. I am off this week and would be glad to help someone load it up.

Since I am off this week, I would be willing to trailer it up and bring it to Bald Knob if you'd be willing to negotiate shipping with me. If you'd prefer me to bring it myself you could send the $1000 deposit + the shipping cost to me via paypal, and let me know what day this week you want me to bring it over.

i dont know how many gamers we have on this board. to those gamers id like to ask: Are you excited for Forza Motorsport 3?!

my only gripe is the severe under-representation of the Cadillac brand. They have:
2004 Cadillac CTS-V
2009 Cadillac CTS-V
2008 Cadillac #8 Remington Shaving CTS-V
2002 Cadillac #6 Team Cadillac Northstar LMP-02

4 cars total, 3 being a CTS-V (one race-spec) and one being a straight up race car.

where is the cadillac cien
cadillac sixteen
Cadillac XLR-V
Cadillac STS-V
Cadillac Sportwagon (CTS Wagon)
Cadillac STSi

wasnt the STS the most powerful FWD production car at one point?

yet they have 8 million honda Civics

i think we should all email Turn 10 (the developer) and try to get either an STS or an ETC in there along with the Cien, XLR-V, and Sixteen.

Who's with me?

Im doing the conversion because i wanted to run 300ZX wheels. But, me being me, i got to looking at the DTS "blade" wheels, and thought about what theyd look like on my car.

The DTS bolt pattern is 5x114.3 and the Maxima hub is 5x115. Im pretty sure that will work, right?

Can someone please Photoshop the DTS wheels on my car or this other "Google Image" Altima? It would be greatly appreciated :highfive:

They're faithful, friendly and furry — but under their harmless, fluffy exteriors, dogs and cats, the world's most popular house pets, use up more energy resources in a year than driving a car, a new book says.

In their book "Time to Eat the Dog: The Real Guide to Sustainable Living", New Zealand-based architects Robert and Brenda Vale say keeping a medium-sized dog has the same ecological impact as driving 10,000 km (6,213 miles) a year in a 4.6 liter Land Cruiser.

These adorable eyes require a hectare of land for food, according to two authors.

Calculating that the modern Fido chows through about 164 kg of meat and 95 kg of cereals a year, the Vales estimated the ecological footprint of cats and dogs, based on the amount of land needed to grow common brands of pet food.

"There are no recipes in the book," Robert Vale told Reuters, laughingly, in a telephone interview. "We're not actually saying it is time to eat the dog. We're just saying that we need to think about and know the (ecological) impact of some of the things we do and that we take for granted."

Constructing and driving the jeep for a year requires 0.41 hectares of land, while growing and manufacturing a dog's food takes about 0.84 ha — or 1.1 ha in the case of a large dog such as a German shepherd.

Meat-eating swells the eco-footprint of canines, and felines are not that much better, the Vales found.

The average cat's eco-footprint, 0.15 ha, weighs in at slightly less than a Volkswagen Golf, but still 10 times a hamster's 0.014 ha — which is itself half the eco cost of running a plasma television.

By comparison, the ecological footprint of an average human in the developing world is 1.8 ha, while people in the developed world take 6 ha.

With pets' diets under the control of owners, how can their unsustainable appetites be trimmed? Convincing carnivorous cats and dogs to go vegetarian for the sake of the planet is a non-starter, the Vales say.

Instead they recommend keeping "greener," smaller, and more sustainable pets, such as goldfish, hamsters, chickens or rabbits.

The book's playful title, and serious suggestion that pet animals may be usefully "recycled", by being eaten by their owners or turned into pet food when they die, may not appeal to animal fans.

Off-putting as the idea may be, the question is valid given the planet's growing population and finite resources, Robert Vale said.

"Issues about sustainability are increasingly becoming things that are going to require us to make choices which are as difficult as eating your dog. It's not just about changing your light bulbs or taking a cloth bag to the supermarket," he said. "It's about much more challenging and difficult issues," he added.

"Once you see where (cats and dogs) fit in your overall balance of things — you might decide to have the cat but not also to have the two cars and the three bathrooms and be a meat eater yourself."

Okay, this is a performance-related thread, as the non-performance wussies run a lesser octane fuel and most do not buy fuel as they only stare at their cars, driving them would lead to wear and tear, which allows for more discretional income to put 20s, faux hood vents, neon kits and TVs in the trunk---so again, Tony, my Paesano, do not move, or I will have no choice but to buy my V2 from Scott, and that would pain me as much as it would you, accettare?

Back on topic, just paid $3.00/gal for Mobil 93 octane, FAWK 'EM BASTAGES. Crude is trading at $80-81/barrel, why so high, as IIRC, at $149/barrel I paid $4.50/gal for premium. BTW, no new fuel taxes levied in past few years, so the Gov is not adding to this. This shiat is robbery, someone needs to have their nutz cutoff, tired of getting screwed but not kissed, you may see me on the 6 o'clock news,,,

And if you are in the industry, please politely refrain from commenting, as I do not want to be subject to some contrived reason that only has merit if Big Oil is paying your bills in life.

BTW, six pimply kids standing around their mother's Hondas in a parking lot is not a car meet, it is a convention of buttwipes too young to get into a bar, and too ugly to find babes.
