Traction problems on test drive

I have a CL55 and looking to trade in for a CTS-V.

Granted cold and new tires (60 degrees), but my test drive (automatic) left me wondering about the car's traction. I drove the CTS-V at Monticello Race Track in the Spring and the car gripped like it had race slicks.

- Barely (3/4 throttle) getting into the gas in 1st gear (traction on) car bogged down for several seconds before recovering. sport mode auto

- Same thing with traction off was a waste of time. sport mode auto

40 mph roll even had the car step out on me. This thing felt so slick that it wasn't very pleasant to drive with just a hint of spirited driving.

Owners: Is this a common problem? If so, modded owners must have a heck of time getting traction down. I've drag raced and road raced for years and I would have no chance of getting 0-60mph in under 4 seconds with this car. Anything close to full throttle under 40mph or so just spun the tires.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, the movie Wise Guys with Danny Devito, Joe Piscopo and the late great Capt Lou Albano aka "Freddy the Fixer". My license plate on my FWB actually reads "FIXR" as an homage to the Fixer.

2 GREAT Cadillacs in that Movie. Mob Boss Fank Costello's FWB that gets Blown UP in the infamous "start the car" scene and of course Frankie the Fixer's white 59 convertible that gets painted pink then WRECKED along the NJ turnpike but miraculously appears white and PERFECT in the last scene!!

Anybody on this forum that HAS NOT seen Wise Guys should be ashamed!!!

Front Weatherstrip Replacement

As stated, I have an '05 STS, a recent purchase, and I'm spending some time and effort to make a few wear and tear issues right. The driver's door weatherstripping is heavily worn across the "drag butt area" and torn in a couple of spots. I've purchased the weatherstrip and was hoping someone had done this before and could offer any tips or tricks to accomplishing the job with a minimum of cursing and gnashing of teeth. :banghead: Thanks in advance!

98 Deville Northstar, hard to crank, flooding

Newbie needs advice: I have a newly purchased '98 Deville with 56K miles.
On a cold start, the car needs a dozen or so cranks before starting, but it does start everytime. Seems to be a flooding problem, ie. strong smell of gas, puff of gray-white smoke. The car then runs out fine, until aftrer sitting at idle for a few minutes and returning to driving speed it boggs as if trying to glup too much gas at once. Also, after driving for a period of time then stopping and turnning of the motor, I can restart with just a touch of the key - no flooding symptoms . Trouble codes P0165H, P0440H, P0463H and P1599H. THAKS for any advice or help you can send.:yup:

Tranny question 94FWB

I finally got her looking all pretty and now the past couple of days the tranny seems to be sluggish from a dead stop only when she's cold??

I'll put her in gear and it takes off but hesitates like hell for a few seconds before kicking into 2nd....then it shifts just fine. It seems to be only when it's cold because it fine after warm up.

I checked the tranny fluid and it's at the correct level but a little dirty.

My tech says to try changing the fluid, gasket and filter and that might be all....I hope. It's only got 55k on it.

Any similar issues out there??

DeVille Base vs. DeVille D'Elegance

I have a 98 d'elegance and all I have been wondering what makes it different from a normal Deville. All I have been able to find is they replaced the Fleetwood with the DeVille D'Elegance but thats about it.

MIne has the cloth top on it and I thought that was a difference but I can't find that many of these that have the top also so that was a dead end.:banghead:

Anyone know any thing else that is different?

Track Day accessory wheels/tires questions

I have a question, I am hoping I can get a good answer from experienced owners here on the forum.

I currently track my '09 V once or twice a month. I love how well the car handles, runs, brakes etc... What I don't like is how much I am using up tires and what my options for tires are for this car in a 19" size. What I am looking to do is the following:

Replace the current PS2's that have no more shoulders with with Pilot Sport A/S models and a 45,000 mi warranty.
Purchase a second set of 18" aluminum wheels for the track and shoe them with a Dot R tire.

I want to go with the 18" wheel tire combo for the track as it allows me to find many more tires in a better price range for the track. They also should give me lower rolling mass, and more torque to the ground.

My questions,

Do I need to put in TPS monitors on the 18" tires
If I don't put them in, and the DIC flashes warnings, when I clear it, will the TPMS issue mess with the active handling or traction control?
If it does, could I clear it, until I get home and put the stock road wheels back on and reset the TPMS?
If I do put in TPMS monitors on the race day wheels, do I need find a way to flash the computer to accept the 18" tire/wheel combo, and then flash back when I get home?

Dropped the car off at a custom paint shop. Getting a two tone w/ the light platinum on top and a darker shade of "titanium" on the bottom. Also having a burnt orange pearl accent stripe done (slightly darker than the Hot Lava color) and the wheels will be painted to match the titanium color. The painter is a well-known guy out here in CA who happens to live next door to my sister. Saw his work in his driveway, struck up a conversation and he was all over the lines on the car - even pulled out some striping tape from his pocket and starting laying down a design for the stripe. I have the E&G kit already on the car, so this should make for an very unique - but tasteful - look for the CTS. I'll try to post some pictures when it is done, but won't be until the week of 7 December.

I went through so many crappy STS. So many dealers.
Drove hours to see some of these cars.. Search endlessly online.

It wore me out. I was on my last leg... UTIL..

Autotint affecting GPS Nav Signals

I know that metallic tints can affect RF signals. I was courious if anybody here has seen issues with certains tint types or brands. I have the newer DVD nav system put in the 03 cards. For those that have seen issues is there a way to relocate the receiver/antenna to get a better signal?

Failed Emissions Test

My '94 DeVille failed the state emissions test and the shop says that it is due to a bad catalytic converter.

Does this sound logical? Car runs fine and gets good gas mileage. There is no clattering or knocking in the exhaust unless I fill the tank with regular unleaded fuel.

The mileage is 115,000.

If so, does the car have two converters, a front & rear, and if so, which one should I replace or should I replace them both?

Has anyone traded a Vette for a V, I have a 08 mn 6 coupe 436 hp Ive run 12.4 115mph. I drove an 09 V it did not feel as strong s.o.t.p. as the vette but I could not stay in it for very long. Being an old guy the V is easier to get in and out of. But I like my go power. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Have asked the question before to all of you and after much research in installing this on my 94 F wood, Difference beteen the concept on my F wood & my Roadmaster Buick, The Cadilliac, uses a plc instead of a relay, plc being the CCM, Also on the buick had to sub out the harness for the twighlight sentinal , the new one had connections for the dropping Diode, but do not see this connection in the loom on my cadilliac. Any ideas! trying To get this concept on my car without usung a jobber add on to accomplish this.Also Have access to a 96 in the wrecking yard( it went too early 96,000 miles on it& a gold key one at that!), that CCM in it should have the option on it for DRL's( CANADIAN FEATURE)!? Also if i take this ccm should i get the car keys & detach it a particular way to avoid messing it up? but in the end The wiring Question for the Dropping Diode, need help!

sagging rear end on my 90 sdv

I have a 91 sdv that has a slightly sagging rear end. it is most noticeable when I have a full tank of gas. I dont believe that the air compressor is the problem and I dont think there are any air leaks. Does anyone know if this system from strutmasters would help me out?

Hello All: I know this is an old topic, but I haven't found any easy to read documentation on how to get at the coil to change the plug wires on my 97. I have a skip in the engine at warmed up idle. I was told that the ones on there now look like the originals. 178K. I took the plugs out and they were GM originals (?) and a real mess. I put in a set of iridium ones and believe I screwed up a wire becuase now I get that miss. I bought a new set of Bosch wires and would like to learn the secret of getting at that coil. I hooked up my code reader and there were no codes recorded. Can anyone help? Regards.

Hey fellas,

You're resident overcaffeinated madman here with a bit of a question.

I recently pulled the demolished vinyl top off my '75 Coupe DeVille, as I'm at that near end stage of her restoration (the last bit of body work to be done is the roof). Question is, since the vinyl tucks into the side windows on a CDV, what is the PROPER removal and reinstallation procedure, as it isn't stated in any of the Chilton's, Haynes' or factory service manuals I have. I'm thinking that since I have to reupholster the car (doing it myself on the days when the weather's too bad to do body work), if I might have to just take the interior completely apart to get them out?

If I have to do the latter, then I'll just recondition ALL of the interior parts then. Thanks guys, you're all great!

P.S. My buddy told me that he thought this project has turned into something I never expected, but the truth is, since the car belonged to another good friend (it was his dad's car, but his mom got terminally sick and could no longer fix her), I feel almost obligated to get her ready so they can see her done as a family. Just my 2 cents. :bouncy:

Digital Instrument Cluster Going nuts!

Mileage : 184,XXX
Problem: Just bought the car yesterday.. runs and drives awesome.. The only thing is , the digital cluster is VERY erratic, Speed reads ok .. but the Fuel always Stays on E, strip where the codes are read is flashing, VERY LOW FUEL LEVEL, SERVICE RIDE CONTROL, CHECK POWER STEERING FLUID and a host of other things..i'm thinking that the ICP needs to be replaced?!
I pulled the codes and only came up with one current// P040 which is the suspension-speed regulator or something of that nature.. totally irrelivent is my guess.
ANY HELP HERE?!
If this is the ICP how can i remove it to get the parts number for Junkyard Replacement!?

98 STS electrical problems

Hey guys, ive got a 98 sts with 136k on it. Ive replaced the CKP's, plugs, wires, ful filter, etc. Trying to get as much done on it as possible. Ever since the day ive owned the car its had a rough idle issue. I replaced everything trying to track it down and she still idles rough. This is the least of my worries as of right now. Ive noticed latelly that when its cold it misses horribly. Once it gets some heat in it, she runs fine. So tonight I swapped out the coil packs and the ICM. Hoping that helps. Also ive noticed a few wierd electrical things latelly. The doors dont unlock most of the time when you put it in park. Then apon restarting the car they lock, unlock and lock again quickly. Also the radio holds stations for a little while, then all of the sudden will just reset???? I also noticed that my horn beep when locking the car is very weak now, but the voltage says OK. Its right at 14 volts. Any suggestions?

value of a 390 and transmission?

I'm in the beginning stages of making plans for my next car, a classic caddy as a dd. I plan on swapping in a duramax, along with the brake system out of a caprice or something along those lines (whatever's the best bang for the buck). At any rate, I'm trying to spend 20 or less plus the proceeds of selling my Pontiac. And I'm not sure whether I'm best off going with completely refurbishing a beater, getting something in decent condition or going for a later model. After looking online it appears that you can get a rebuilt 390 for roughly $3,500. Could I expect this for an engine that hasn't been rebuilt but runs well? Also, how much can I expect to get for a transmission in very good condition? I was guessing $1,500, but obviously I have no idea.

2009 CTS-V Remote Amp Turn-On Wire?

I've searched with negative results...

Okay, this is totally frackin' ridiculous! Up until a couple of days ago I've been tapping into some of the speaker leads coming from the Bose amp in the trunk to get my remote input. But for some odd reason it's quit working lately and only provides enough voltage to intermittently turn my aftermarket amp on. Additionally, ever since I initially wired it I noticed that every time you open or close or lock or unlock the doors or open the trunk it gives the wiring coming out of the Bose amp a temporary voltage spike that in turn activates my amplifier and THUMPS my sub. But whatever, at least it worked...

But for whatever reason these wires no longer provide enough voltage (around 6 volts tops) to trigger my amp to come on. Again, whatever...I'll just find another wire in the myriad of wires in the trunk that provides 12 volts whenever the stereo is on, right? WRONG!!

I just spent the last two hours with my voltmeter checking EVERY wire and fuse in the trunk and could not find ANY that provided a dedicated circuit for the stereo. Both radio-related fuses in the trunk fuse box provide 12 volts ALL the time, not just when the radio is on.

Seriously? Is there not a single wire in the trunk that only provides a 12 volt source when the stereo is powered up? Am I missing something? Even the main, large red w/ black stripe power wire that goes into the Bose amp has power running to it ALL the time.

Am I going to have to settle for a wire that is powered at all times when the ignition is on? I mean, I guess this is fine assuming I want my amplifier on whenever the car is running regardless of whether I'm listening to music or not. I'm just a little miffed at my inability to find what I was looking for.

Rant done.

95' Eldorado ETC tranny issues!

Hey there,

Im not sure what to do about my recent automatic transmission issue.

My problem is with the overdrive in my 1995 ETC. When driving normal it doesn't want to stay in overdrive and kicks into third I think. Then sometimes when I am coasting through town and down hills, it will finally slide into overdrive and the instant mpg's are great. The other gears are working fine but shifting a tad harder than normal. It is really affecting my gas mileage, currently getting an average of 11-12 mpg.

I am not sure if it is a problem with the transmission solenoids, or if the tranny is just going out due to having 160,000 miles on it. I went to the local Cadillac dealership and the guy I talked to just had dollar signs in his eyes and didn't tell me anything helpful.

I added some Lucas Transmission fix but didn't seem to have any effect. I also checked my codes, and no problems there. Im not affraid to get greasy and fix it, but at the same time don't want to get in over my head.:confused::confused:

I am a starving college kid :) and would like to fix this as cheap as possible! So hopefully you guys have some ideas. Thanks for the help!

QUestion about cell phone use with speakers

I'm a first time Cadillac owner. I bought a used 2006 CTS with 29K miles on. The car is awsome, great shape..I love it.

My question is does anyone know how to get your cell phone to linc to the speakers so I can use the interior mic and speakers for phone calls? The car has ONstar and the rear view with the buttons on it but I have no idea if I can do this or if i need to use the Onstar portion and pay for this feature.
Since its a Caddy I figured this should not be an issue nor should I need to buy anything to make this work.

Am I making any sense?..Has anyone done this before? ALso, do any of the 2006 models come with blue tooth ??..

I checked the manual and I cant find anything on this..

Power antenna wire?

My power antenna is broken and since I hardly use the radio, I thought I'd do a quick and easy fix and just attach a long piece of wire to where the antenna is connected and attach it along the edge of the engine compartment.
Does anyone know if it's possible to disconnect the wire that connects the antenna to the radio, under the hood? (connector pictured below)

I have a 1995 DeVille and when i shut the car off and open the drivers door the radio does not shut off and the interior lights do not go on. If i open any of the other doors the radio will then go off and lights go on like they should.

Window Issues

Well after two years of trouble free ownership of my 2003 deville,I have had my first issue.......and it's a big one. On the freeway today I thought I had a window open due to some noise intrusion. Went to roll up all the windows one by one and when I got to the front passenger window it happened.

It made what sounded like a crinkling noise, almost like something had broke inside the door and then fell into tiny pieces to the bottom. At that point I foolishly tried to roll it down, which it did, and then was stuck in a partially open posistion.

Now it will not go up or down, and I had to shove something in the window to keep it in the up posistion. This is obviously a temporary fix and would like to get some ideas from you fine folks as to what this could be.

Is this the dreaded window regulator I have heard so much about? Or could it be something else? Any ideas? Thanks!

Was quoted a plan offered by "Gold Key Protection Plan of St. Louis Mo.", their Titanium Exclusionary coverage plan. This plan "picks-up" the mfg. coverage 100% except maintanence items. Coverage is 5yrs / 100kmiles after 30 day 1k mile waiting period. Cost for $100 deductible= $2,493. Offered me $250 down and no interest for 18 monthly pymts of $124.

What do you folks think?

2005 Deville DTS Window Problem

I have a 2005 Deville and the rear window will not work using the rear switch, but it will work using the switch on the driver's door. The power outlet on that door will not work. The heated seat switch on that door still works. Any ideas?

I have thought and continue to think that the incidence of swine flu has been exaggerated to allow the government to justify expenditures which would not normally be justified. That said, any of you who have loved ones with the flu, God bless, and I wish you well.

The H1N1 vaccine was not available for my daughter, they don't have enough in our area, my granddaughter got the 1st of the two dose nasal inoculations last Friday.

the drain hoses that travel from the moonroof to the bottom of my car are plugged. i cleaned the front two with no problem. now i'm trying to clean the back two, but i'm not having any luck by starting from the trunk.

can anyone tell me how to find the rear holes from the moonroof?
i can only access the hoses from the trunk.
i've been trying to find posts on this for the past few days, but haven't been able to find anything. thank you for any help.

94 sedan deville cranking problems

ok got the car from my cousin..the car when i got it would only start n drive.. i took the alarm out and then all a sudden it started crankin in park. well now its back to only cranking in drive or sumtimes it doesnt crank at all..
it thru the code for the prndl switch and it was current i cleared the codes and it shows that code as hstry but still only cranks n drive..usally if it doesnt crank at all i can just run the shifter thru the girls couple times and itll start n drive...any ideas on how to fix the problem or wut the problem is?

CEL points to low signal at MAF sensor

Well as the thread title states, I have a pesky check engine light that doesn't want to go away. Today a new MAF sensor was installed. After about an hour or so of driving, the light came back on and the car idle is off. Sometimes it surges and then drops really low like its going to shut off. This is really annoying when I am changing gears. The car just bucks like a bronco. We looked at the sensor wiring harness and it looks ok. I am at a loss.

Any ideas guys?

Help - Here is the issue on my 02' lade - It appears that my Driver side mirror broke (not the glass or the housing) but some type of liquid dripped from behind the glass and now driving at night looking into the mirror is like it is displaying Double Vision of everything. Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus - high treadwear rating for a z rated tire

Bridgestone 960AS - also z rated and has great warranty.

Which do you guys recommend? I want to step up to 255s for a little wider tire and I really don't track...maybe an autocross twice a year and this car is my daily driver/road trip car.

I've heard great things about all 3 tires...just on the fence on which ones to get.

The engine oil cooler lines are rotted, the ones that go to the radiator to the engine. Does anyone know where I can obtain some new or good used ones? I tried GM and they do not have any and they searched their database.

SRT8 vs. CTS-V

Hey Guys,

I have had the V for almost 3 months now, so I thought I would provide my brief "IMHO Comparison" between the 2006 300c SRT8 and the V1 CTS-V since I have owned both:

First let start with looks.
Exterior: I love the looks of both cars. I like the V more cause it is smaller and has more of a sportier look than the 300c SRT8. The V looks more aerodynamic. I love the V's grill. It lets ppl know this is a different CTS. The SRT8's grill was the same as the other 300 even though it's front fascia was slightly different. I like the look of the stock wheels of the SRT8 more so than the CTS-V, no particular reason.

Interior:
I love the CTS-V interior way more than the SRT-8. Believe it or not (I know you guys bash the plasticy look of the CTS-V), but the SRT8 is even more plasticy, if that's a word. At least the CTS-V has cushion under the plastic where the SRT8 didn't. The seats in the CTS-V are higher quality too. I know it might not be leather in either but at least in the CTS is not paper thin like the SRT8. I gouged the pleather in the SRT8 just by sitting in the seat. As for space, of course the SRT8 had more since it's a larger car, but that is neither here nor there.Carpet is not comparison, CTSV wins. The carpet in the SRT8 was thin and cheap feeling.

Electronics:
This is where the SRT8 kills the CTSV. I mean this is ridiculous. Okay the CTSV came out a year before the SRT8 300, but you would think they were 5 years apart when it comes to the electronics. The SRT8 has bluetooth, played MP3 cd's, rain sensing wipers and a NAV that I though sucked until I seen the CTS's. The sound system on the SRT8 makes the CTS's sound like a Fisher Price Radio. Nevertheless, this doesn't surprise me that the CTS V lacked these things. I used to support GM's IT for several years and talking to a few engineers they always allowed other car companies to be guinea pigs for technology then they would hop on the band wagon later.

Performance:
Okay here's what ppl have been waiting for. The performance of these two just don't have the same feel IMHO. I guess it's because on is automatic and the other is manual. Acceleration wise they are pretty much the same, though the SRT8 torque is more noticeable. Both cars have a nice rumble from American muscle. The SRT8 rear is definitely tighter than the CTS-V. I never even heard of so many diff issues until I bought the CTSV.
The SRT8 felt floaty when I drove it at high speeds on the freeway. It felt like I was driving a big Lincoln Towncar. That was one thing I hated about the car. The CTS-V feels much tighter and grounded and has more of a sports car feel. I feel like I am in a cockpit in the CTS-V whereas in the SRT8 it felt like I was in a "LOL"...Cadillac Seville.

Handling:
Believe it or not the SRT8 handle pretty well, I never took it to extremes, but I haven't taken the CTS-V to extremes either, so I guess I can't really compare the two.

Overall:
I am happy I have the CTS-V. I look forward to driving it. Whereas the SRT8 just seems like a big engine with wheels, no excitement about it. Maybe because it was an automatic and the V is a manual. I have no regrets selling the SRT8 and purchasing the CTS-V. I hope others on here can include their own take between the two cars.

96 deville strange noises

Replaced the front drivers side axle had a blown boot and seems like the sounds are worse. I can bounce the front and rear shocks while parked and not hear anything.:thepan:

Rough Idle

'88 Brougham climate control went blank!

Being a new cadillac owner, I was not familiar with "climate control" and routinely turned my air/heat on and off. I ALWAYS had issues with the temperature adjustment buttons not responding when pressed. The car previously belonged to a heavy smoker and the tar build-up was evident so I blamed all issues on that. However, the display just went blank and I have NO air or heat whatsoever. A replacement ECC unit from the junkyard failed to power up also. I'd love to think it's just a fuse but couldn't find the proper one. HELP! What's my next step?

However this time when it floated over the cruise control turned off. So I tired to turn it back on and after 4 times nothing. Sts '01 oil leak need help!

I have a leak whether it sits or runs. It drips from the back of the pan, but probably is blown back while driving. Replaced pressure switch and nothing changed. Tightened pan bolts, no help.

Could replace level sensor if necessary. Any other ideas? It is driving me crazy!

07 Escalade subwoofer

Hi guys, new to the boards. Has anyone attempted to change out the bose woofer in the 07 escalade for something different? Is it even possible? I would like to add something for a little more feel but want to keep it discrete and can't find any applications or any information. Everything I've found (JL, MTX) doesn't have an application for the Escalade. I have the second row captains chairs and want to keep the back open for hauling around things so a big box isn't an option for me. Thanks for any input.

Clear Tail Lamp Package on a Crystal Red car

Interested in installing the clear Tail Lamp Package (GM p.n. 19211989) on my �09 Crystal Red CTS, along with the factory rear spoiler.

On the Crystal Red car, the tail lights tend to blend in with the body color and the quarter panel, and in essence make the quarter panel look longer. On lighter or darker colored cars the contrast between body color and tail light color allows the rear body line of the quarter to actually show more distinctly, and the car looks better in that area in my opinion. I saw on another thread below where someone said the clear lights were a �90�s things and they didn�t seem to like them. Opinions??

Has anybody installed the clear light package on a Crystal Red car, or even seen one?

Just got B&B exhaust --- a bit confused!!

I just got my B&B exhaust in the mail and I ordered the Sport version which is the louder version that has the x-pipes and does NOT have the resonator on it.

Well, I open up the package and what I am seeing does not match what I had hoped to get. Nor does it match what is on the B&B website for the Sport Exhaust System.

The problem is with the frontpipes. The frontpipes that is supposed to come with my Sport system does not have any resonators of any sort, but the one I just got in the mail has a resonator on it. What is up with that!!!?????

I got this system so it would be loud.... and now they put some sissy resonator thingy on it. NOT COOL!!!!! Did they send me the wrong frontpipes or is that how they make them now?

What I'm trying to find out is what is the root cause? I'm assuming the whine is caused by a gear mesh issue. But what is causing the mesh to change from new and create this noise? worn bearings, ring and pinion tooth wear, ect? Has anyone pulled apart one of these whining cases and compared it to a stock off the shelf diff?

245-45-17 Pictures and Information

Hey guys I'm about to buy new tires today or tomorrow. I want something wider to give me a more aggresive look. The 245-45-17 is about 3/4 of an inch wider which I think will look damn good. It shouldn't make it stick OUT more really should it? Just be wider in the wheel well I'm hoping. Also, this size tire is cheaper on tirerack than the stock size. Is anyone else running this tire size? Or something similar to 9.64" wide? And does anyone have any pictures? Thanks

Looking For '90 Fleetwood Info

I am checking into a '90 Fleetwood for sale. It is a 4.5 V-8. This car is a little unfamiliar to me as my experiences are '92 and '93 DeVilles with the 4.9.

I'm trying to find out just how good the '90 Fleetwood is and if they have any known problems or weaknesses to them.

This car in particular has just over 100,000 miles and has been garaged since new.

Any info would be appreciated.

steering wheel leather feels sticky

My hands seem to sweat pretty good, as a result, my steering wheel has started to feel sticky. I haven't tried any sort of conditioner/cleaner on it fearing it would make it feel more sticky and getting the stuff on my hands. I was thinking of using just plain water / sponge.

Any other ideas?

Recommendations for 2003 CTS 18" Winter Tire Size

I currently have 245 45 18 all season tires on my 2003 CTS and will be purchasing winter tires for the first time. I would like to know what size winter tires owners are using with 18" wheels and any other recommendations for winter tires for 18" wheels on a 2003 CTS as my current tires are lower profile and I don't know if there is a more suitable winter tire size or if the current size is sufficient.

Maybe my mind is just in the gutter ......but looking at my FWB under the car cover today with just the hint of the Vogues and chrome wheels exposed at the very bottom reminds me of the look of a hot girl in "Daisy Dukes" with just the right hint of cheek showng from the very bottom of the shorts.

Do I REALLY love my car....or do I need to see a "shrink"???
