93' STS Battery charge/Transmission issues

I have a 93' STS with 146k, a few weeks ago I noticed, after restarting the car, the "battery no charge" warning, within 5 minutes or so the car shifted itself down to 1st gear and I started losing power to all my accessories. I kept driving and finally it went back to normal. Since then I have been monitoring my Battery Voltage and it seems to run from the 13's to 14's. And I have not had any Transmission shifting problems.

Today the "Battery No Charge" warning came on and has stayed on and I am affraid the transmission will freak out again, or something else.

This happened a few years ago and they replaced the shift solenoid.

I am inclined to think my "automatic downshift" issue is the result of either a bad Altenator, Voltage regulator or a bad connection.
