Pulling Codes on 1989 Cadillac Fleetwood

Does anyone know how to pull the codes? This car does not have the fuel data center. Is it still accessed through the climate control center? If so, what buttons do you push simultaneously?

    Thank you!

Yes, you push OFF and WARMER on the climate control to get the codes.

Would this be a RWD Brougham? Then you might need to deal with blink codes.

Yes, this is a RWD brougham. What are blink codes and how do I pull them?

    Thanks!

Look under the dash for the ALDL, the 12 cavity diagnostics connector. Get a paperclip, and with the ignition on, jump pins A and B. They are the two pins at the top right of the connector. The Check engine light will begin to blink. it will first blink a code 12 by blinking once, short pause, then two successive blinks. There is a longer pause between codes. If you post the codes, I'll look them up for you.

Whoa! I've been trying the warmer and off with my 86 rwd and it wasn't working. Switched the ECC with an american part and it gave me gibberish.

I shall try the paper clip too! As after I cleaned my engine with diesel it's been giving me the check engine light.
