Nightvision system components??

Remove this ad
Hi, I'd like to know what the different components are in the cadillac nightvision system that was on the DeVille. Would it be possible to put a Nightvision system from a deville into an older car, for a restoration project to bring it up to the modern era? I read that the system was designed around the car's design, but I'd still like to see how it would work in a different car.

Re: Nightvision system components??

Check for parts on Ebay... and here from Tech infor... I'm thinking of looking into the possibly of adding the NV on a 97 STS... For one.. All my Grand Prix's have the Head's Up Display (HUD) that projects the Speed, turn signals, etc into the windshield in the drivers line of sight.. I love it and it's one of the things I miss most on the Caddy. I would have thought that a car of the caliber of Cadillac would have the HUD as OEM standard equipment!!!!!

Re: Nightvision system components??

I didn't think this tread was still alive, hehe. The NV systems are custom tailored to the vehicle. So you are right, anything can be done, but it would be awfully expensive, and wouldn't be worth it's price to benefit ratio.

A system that uses a dash screen would be a better idea than one that is projected onto the glass. I can't imagine what it would cost buying it from Mercedes-Benz.
