    98 STS battery drain

    I have a 98 STS with the Bose sound system in it I am having a battery draw problem I have a cycling draw that goes from 4amps down to 2.5 amps so I started pulling fuses and the draw dropped down to a normal level the draw is in the audio fuse. dose any one know what in the system might be causing this or how I can trouble shoot the system any help would be greatly helpful thanks

    "Sounds like" one of the amps is not turning off. 2.5A is NOT even close to a normal engine off/RAP out drain.

    what would cause that bad Amp? and when I pull the fuse it drops bellow 1 amp

    Your total car residual draw after RAP dropout should be <30 mA - less than 30 thousandths of an amp. 1 Amp is still far too high. Those stereo amps use a sensing voltage to "turn on". If something has been done to modify the signals from the control head (HU) then you're gonna need a good hotshot sound system install tech to trace out the system.

    Beyond that, you're outta my antique car stereo memory ..........
