| '93 Fleetwood Brougham "countdown" on digital climate control
Please help me..
A countdown starts at 31 goes to 0 and then repeats. I believe that 0 to 31 are my pointer numbers if I put the car in diagnostic mode. What's going on? When I bought the car a couple of years ago I might have made a mistake by allowing a local alarm dealer installer a viper on the car and I've had several problems with it like the factory security system being set off even though it was supposed to be bypassed or disabled after the installation of the viper alarm. If it helps there is a little info below on when i notice the countdown issue.
The first time I noticed this was in June when my fuel pump supposedly went out. The car would not start and as soon as I turned the key the countdown would begin. I did not have this issue any longer after I dropped the tank and replaced the pump. This time, after a 70 mile trip I take twice a week, my car stopped and restarted 2 to 3 times in the morning and then refused to start when I reached my destination all the while a countdown was taking place while I was trying to start her up. Later that evening the car did start and continue to run with no visual or audible problems. I towed the car that night so I would not freeze and have not driven the car since. I dropped the tank once again since I have actually done so a few times now and romoved what I will say might have been corrosion from the terminal that leads to the pump and the sending unit. The car starts fine now and it has not stopped yet although I have not ventured too far from home yet but the countdown continued once again today. |
