p1641 and p1646 set when car dies

These are the two most reoccurring codes when the car dies p1641 and p1646 = MIL control circuit and evap vent valve output circuit. While driving about 80mph at night, first all the dash gauges dash lighting went dead. The car drove another 1/4 mile or more and then quit running. after the car quit running the dash lights begin flickering and the car will not restart until the flickering stops. The car restarted and drove the remaining 40 miles last night and 64 this morning incident free. it seems that the cruise control and climate control are always active when the car stalls. whether they contribute ot not im trying to find all the contants present when the condition occurs. also i have 2 codes that are always current, RSS c1785 (short) and ABS c1253 (force malfunction). i really dont want to go to the dealership until i give up. I have a multi meter but troubleshooting uses a scan tool at ALLDATADIY.COM. anyone see this before.?
p.s. i charged and load tested the battery. it is good.

Sound like I have the same problem is you let me know if you get it fixed

Check your engine ground at right frt corner on head...have seen them get broken/weak...causes weird things to happen...

Reviving this old thread.
I have a 98 sts and it has started doing similar things.

1. Just cranks the first time, then remove key and try again, starts right up.
2. Random stalls, this started as weather got warm
3. A/C blows hot, then turning off control and back on works fine.
4. All guages go black, car stalls. Starts right back up.

The only codes I got after clearing this morning were the P1641 and 1646.

I looked for a ground wire onto the block and saw nothing.

Any other ideas? I can't make this stall, but it seems like maybe A/C or load.
The other thing is sometimes power steering is hard even when running, then fine next time etc.
