    Trailer Brake light Problem

    2005 Escalade

ALL lights on truck work properly. Talking about the trailer right brake light.

Not the fuse, not the bulb. Flashers work, turn signals work, parking lights work, right brake light does not work.

My limited search ability found that it could possibly be the trailer flasher module as this has been found to be the problem in other GM SUV/trucks.

My questions...does anyone have a part number and where is this module located?

    Any other sugestions or thoughts?

    Re: Trailer Brake light Problem

I had the same problem, only it was the left brake light at first, then later both brake lights were gone. Now the tail lights circuit seems bad two. The trailer brake circuit still works though (i had installed a brake controller). All the lights work fine on the truck. With my test lamp, there is no power for these lights at the connector. I'll check the fuses again, but they appeared to be fine. The truck seems to have a separate blinker and brake light circuit. This means that there must be a converter since the trailer brake/blinker circuit are the same. Does anyone know what problem is likely?

    Re: Trailer Brake light Problem

I figured my problem out, crusher's may be different. The left and right turn problems were blown fuses. The turn/brake fuses are in the fuse block on the left side of the dash. With the front door open, lift out the fuse cover from the bottom. For my 03, the fuses are labeled LT TRLR and RT TRLR. The tail light fuse is in the block under the hood. It is labeled TRL PARK. My park fuse was not blown, but after disconnecting and reconnecting the trailer harness plug, the tail lights started working again. Hope this helps someone. Don't know why they chose to put the trailer lighting fuses in different fuse blocks
