Heater/AC Fan Doesn't Work

I have a 97 Seville SLS that I love! The heater/ac fan quit last week. I took it into my general mechanic and he said there wasn't anything wrong with the fan but could be something with the climate control system. He can't work on it but he mentioned a "module" or computer or something. Can anyone shed some light on this for me and tell me what I'm in for?

Well....

In '94 GM/Cadillac moved the blower control module to the actual blower assembly. The earlier remote blower modules had their problems and the internal ones (like yours) have their problems.

99% of the time its the blower control module in the blower. You replace the complete blower....about $300. There are some now available aftermarket........maybe Cardone?

You also need to check the blower connector. These can go bad/hot/loose. Also spark plug wires resting on the actual blower housing can fry them.

Finally.....if there is a problem on the UART data line THAT can cause a no blow. I hope this is not the case. UART data line problems can be very complex and difficult to track down.

Personally I think you just have a bad blower module. Very common.
