    AngryMisfiring cylinder 2

I have a 2003 Deville with the DTC P1360 Ignition Coil Group 2 Control Circuit as well as another misfiring code ( I can't recall at the moment). I changed the Spark Plugs which has made a remarkable difference. The engine light has turned off after changing those, but orginally it pulled up the P1360 code. I am trying to locate the position of the cylinder 2. So I know which coil pack to replace.. is it the front bank or the rear bank.. and also what the exact firing order is???

This post belongs down in Northstar Performance.

The front bank is 2-4-6-8, rear is 1-3-5-7. Firing order is in the owner's manual: 1-2-7-3-4-5-6-8 (disregard the pre-2000 ignition coil arrangement in the first drawing.)

Each coil cassette has its own ICM, that small black module which clips into the L leg of the cassette. Pay particular attention to the spark plug boots - one may have a carbon track inside, which will short out a plug instantly.

AC Delco #41-987 plugs, torqued to 13 ft/lb with a tad of anti-seize on the first 3 threads.

i had the same misfire on cylinder 5 my 99 deville. I read somewhere in this forum that its the boots. I replaced that cable with an old one from my previous replacement. No more misfires. You can try it.

The '99 and the 2000+ engines are two different animals. The 2000+ engines are COP ignition and thus have no plug wires.
