u1255 codes I have a 99 deville that I just replaced the torque converter in, When I got her all back together it ran 5 minutes and quit , Theft system fault car may not start warnig was showing , also every square in the shift indicator was lit. I checked the codes and every modual was throwing a u1255 code. I thought I was in for a nightmare . I stopped at a local garage after work and asked the owner if He could test the pcm if I brought it in , he asked me for the codes and when I told him that I had several u1255 codes he told me my problem was a short to ground on the buss wires that power the moduals. He told me to unplug the moduals 1 at a time until I found the one that put the codes out , and the short would be in the wire near that modual. I could not see why this would work. I went home and unplugged the abs modual first as I had had it apart ot take the trany out, The codes went away, I unwrapped the cable up about 5" and found a bare ground wire , wrapped it in tape put it all together and she runs without any codes.I was extremely happy! I took the guy a $5 for his advise , He told me he learned this from experience , not from a book. I thought this might be valuable information to any one who comes up with a bunch of u1255 codes |
