Cant get my sunroof to close automatically with "one" touch. I have to hold it...then it doesent stop....it continues until the sunroof pops up in vent position. It appears that the vent button isnt doing anything when it push it either direction. Only can operate sunroof when using the "Roof" button. It does "one" touch open though. Any suggestions.

Yes, it sounds just like what my moonroof was doing.
Replacing the moon roof module fixed mine.

My car was under warranty at the time, it took returning to the dealer 3 times before they fixed it.

I looked it up at gm parts direct $30 plus shipping. The module is in the head liner.

#1 Moon roof motor
#2 Control Module. .

Are you sure you have an express close feature? Mine only does the express open. But it did act like yours, when I closed it the moon roof went past the close position to the vent position and sometimes the vent switch did not work.

There is also a limit switch in the motor.

Like yours, when I try to close the moon roof it goes past the close position to the vent position. I have to keep pressing the switch a few times manually as it get to the close position to get it to the right spot. The vent switch does work though

Out of my department.....there are limit switches in the roof track which signal "on/off" at proper points. Check the wiring diagrams and the Helm FSM for location and adjustment......

Sub, you are correct there are limit switches. But, if I'm not mistaken, aren't the limit switches internal to the moon roof motor? I would need to look at a schematic maybe 99 is different from 2004.

Re: Sunroof Issues - 2004Cadillac Deville DTS

Agreed, sounds just like what I had to deal with. I suggest replacing the moon roof control module, its up in the headliner towards the back of car. Good Luck Dewayne, and thanks for the update.
