    Door lock fuse keeps blowing

My fuse blows instantly (#15) when I put it in. My car is a 1990 Cadillac DeVille. The fuse runs the door locks and the dome light. Also, The air pump for the self-leveling system comes on quite frequently. Our air-conditioner blows hot air. Can you suggest where to start? I have pulled all the door panels to see if there was a wire shorting on the door locks but found nothing.

You might want to try taking the door lock system out of the loop by unplugging the relay power from the fuse panel. On the RWD cars it is a big orange wire with a black stripe. You may find it's not in the lock circuit at all. Also try tugging on wiring harnesses under the dash. Sometimes just wiggling wires reveals those problems.

You might look at all the lighter sockets for tin foil or coins. Usually when that fuse blows its not the door locks at all, but lighters or sockets shorting. Good luck, Bill.
