Removed Dash Panels, now Fuel Guage Quit

I have an 82 Cadillac Eldorado with the 4.1 V8.

I am currently installing a CD player in the dash, so I removed the middle dash panel and the big dash pad on the top so I could get to the front speakers.

I havent messed with any wires yet and the guage has worked continously up until now.

I also reinstalled the lower panel on the passenger side. The one what covers up the wiring and is right above your feet on the passenger side. I had to shove some wires up and tuck them under the reinstalled panel. *Could this be where I casued a problem*

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    possibly. i'd think not.

the gas gauge's wires are pretty 'open', so you have to be careful when you take that big piece that goes over the front speakers off. i'd say take it off again, wiggle the gas gauge and the wires going to it around, and then see what happens.
